I don't understand the allure. He has a good think going in Akron. The American, while a slight step up, is still a single bid league. Financially, the job doesn't pay much, if any, more once due to cost of living differences. (A ~400k raise and Tampa costs vs. Akron costs; An equivalent Tampa house is probably 2-4M) Maybe he (or his wife) really wants to live in Tampa vs. Akron.

USF is a WAYYYYYY better job than Akron …

The American is a lot easier to win than the MAC … And he’s dominated the MAC … He will have great success at USF if he is indeed their guy …

Know I’ve said it here already a couple weeks back … Continue to hear A LOT of buzz about this …

My sources telling me it’s a done deal for Wade to LSU …

Alright here’s what I’ve got tonight … And it’s a LOT … Indy bomb … Lol …

I think there’s a very real chance that UNC, Duke, Kansas, Michigan, Arizona, and Alabama all open this cycle …

LSU will be Wade … So NC State will also be open and should attract good candidates as well …
Duke opening would be stupid. No better job in any league including the NBA.

IMHO

In other non UNC news …

Hearing there is likely another blue blood job opening …

Kansas Basketball Self GIF by Kansas Athletics

Update here …

If Self does indeed retire as expected …

Kansas is prepared to do “whatever it takes” to land one of May or Lloyd …

Kansas is reportedly very much wanting Self to figure it out quick because they want to get aggressive and get it done with May or Lloyd …

Sounds like it will be Luke Murray at Boston College …

Great hire and if he can turn them into a winner … He will set himself up for an ELITE job … Maybe even the Hurley replacement at UConn …
Is that really the best job he can get? I know its technically a Power 4, but that entire athletic department has been dogcrap for over a decade now.

Lon Kruger made a Final Four with Florida in 1994, two years before taking the Illinois job. Comparing that to Steve Forbes is absurd. C'mon now.
I know this is going to sound hard to believe - But Kruger was told halfway through the '95 - '96 season that his contract would not be renewed. He was hired on March 20 before the elite 8 games were played.

This was pre-arranged.

Just me asking - What years did Steve Forbes coach college basketball?

I hope Self retires. I'd hate to see him do permanent damage to himself at his age. Avoid the stress, enjoy the grandkids.
My Dad died of a massive coronary at 63. He was extremely healthy, no warning. Hadn't retired. I retired at 57. Grandma has enjoyed the heck out of me.

I would hate to be a school on the carousel this year if all those jobs are available

It is absolutely crazy on the phones tonight …

So … Many … Dominoes …
No kidding that many Domino's will almost certainly start getting Brad in conversations and then we might be getting 100 page weekly threads lol(thankfully this wasn't couple years ago). Certainly not enough high quality candidates for that many top 15 programs for his agent to not be getting feelers already I'd imagine.

What makes Kansas such a better job than the other two? I get Michigan with football, but I’m curious why Lloyd would want to leave Arizona. Outside of brand, I struggle to see why there would be that much of an advantage to be at Kansas in the modern era.

I doubt it. Brad is on a mission here...even if we don't think he's the best in-game coach at making adjustments. I think he is fully 100% invested in getting this program back to the promiseland. If he was going to leave, it would've been for K State or it would've been for a bigger job 5 yrs ago. I think he is settled in

I'd like to see Hubert Davis coach again and I have a perfect landing spot for him.....

Wake Forest...get Steve Forbes outta there, get Hubert in, it would be a bit of a heel turn but a justified heel turn nonetheless.
