I am low-level iFund and a season ticket holder. I put in a request for tickets last night right after the game ended from the link the ticket office sent. What are the chances I get a pair?
I hope our chances are good!

curious

if you are in the upper deck of seating in a football stadium watching a FF game , do you just end up looking at the videoboard 98% of the time to actually watch the game ?

one more question. for the longest time , they would orientate the basketball court east - west in one of the end zones and put up bleachers & a curtain to enclose the space .

it looks like they are putting the court north-south , entered on mid field. can that be ?

Wouldn't a 1989 payback be sweet?

"As of the 2025 tournament, No. 3 seeds have won the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament four times. The teams that accomplished this feat are Michigan (1989), Arizona (1997), Syracuse (2003), and Connecticut (2011)."
I’m just curious how we’ll change our scheme against Mara. He was a nightmare screener, rim protector, and lob threat. For that matter, all 4 potential remaining teams will make scoring inside damn near impossible. But I feel like they’ll dare us to go inside. Just have to really hope Duke/Uconn is a bruiser as is Arizona/Michigan.

I would love to believe in Tennessee. But their offense can be an abomination. They can check Michigan. But barring Ament and Gillespie popping off, the game may look like Arizona vs. Purdue.

Think I’d prefer UConn…Duke has the dudes to match us on the glass
For those of us who watched the World vs USA Nike Hoops Summit last year...

Mirkovic was not outclassed by Boozer down low. My hopes for this team went through the roof watching that game.

I don't hate the matchup with Duke, especially with their point guard not 100%.

I'd be surprised if it wasn't down to the wire this evening with UCONN. Give me either. Underdog spot while playing free and easy 2 hours from campus. What a dream!

I’m a little concerned about Boswell. He’s the one guy that’s trended downwards; quite in contrast to the rest of the guys. Everyone else seems to be playing their best ball.
I think his hand is limiting him. He can play but is certainly not the same player. Against Iowa in the regular season Boswell had 17 points and did a better defensive job on Stirtz.

If tonight's game (all 40 minutes) showed anything about the Brad offense and defense, its that his approach is all (100%) about match ups. The reason Jake is starting is to force the opposition to prepare for him both offensively and defensively. It forces the oppositon to guard Jake on the perimeter and he guards well.

There are 56 potential match ups when both teams play 8 players and what we do better than our opponents is prepare for them and then identify the best match ups with the different combinations on the floor. That is why Andrej never comes off the bench alone. That forces whomever we play to make a minimum 2 switches (which they may or may not have practiced) on both offense and defense.

Where this team has matured is their ability to both read and recognize the mismatches and then exploit them. Andrej actually guarded Stirtz quite a bit tonight. We scored on seven consecutive possessions in the second half. Why? Because Keaton, Mirk and Bam saw the mismatches. Overload the strong side on the perimeter and hit Andrej in the weakside corner and he drives to the hoop agains one defender. 2 possessions later same set same short pass and Z runs the baseline from the strong side and is open for the dunk. It was clinical basketball, not based on who started but who was in the game and reading the match ups.

We're in the final four - and I don't care whom of the 8 players starts. As I noted in several other posts this year, our starters are normally not the 5 that finish the game. Who finishes for us is based on who has performed in the best match ups with the players on the floor. I hope we can all agree that in basketball its not about who starts, but who finishes the game.

If Andrej coming off the bench creates more mismatches than him starting, let him come off the bench. I am more focused on winning the national championship than who has "earned" the right to start. The is a TEAM - not 5 starters and 3 role players.
Fantastic post

I saw Duke in person at Greenville, I left feeling they wouldn't win the NC. I feel UCONN will beat them today.

Duke heavily reliant on Big Boozer, and UCONN has size to bother him. PG Boozer isn't an offensive threat. AZ and Michigan should have advantage.

Between UCONN abd Duke, feel we match better with Duke.

Guessing they haven’t announced sections or anything at Lucas Oil yet?? We scored tickets through a friend in 618, and while I’m simply happy to be there and I’m sure there will be orange in just about every section … I hope I’m not in a clear enemy territory spot. 🤣
My section will be an Illinois section whether they like it or not.

Booked my flights from SoCal.

Got tickets on seat geek. Incredibly expensive for 3 seats in section 213

I had to work in 1989 and 2005. I am 63 so this could be my last chance to see the Fighting Ivics take it all.

Go Illini
Tony
