I think we slow the pace way down on the offensive side right? Duke looks really comfortable getting out on the fast break and just speeding things up

Not feeling great seeing how well Duke, Arizona, and Michigan are playing. I understand we've already had an A+ season- so I'm over the moon already. But feel a little nervous the doors could get blown off on Saturday.

Cam Crocker is going to earn his paycheck this week
I don't think we can guard them man-to-man. We will be in foul trouble by the first tv timeout. Maybe Brad should start off in zone, avoid foul trouble and see if Duke can hit outside shots. If they do, we can switch to man-to-man. If we start off man-to-man early foul trouble could effectively end the game early. In 2013 #1 seed Indiana got upset by #4 seed Syracuse by playing their zone and Indiana missing open 3s.

So who guards cam boozer for us?
My expectation is that Mirk, Tomi, Z, and Ben will all get the chance. Not sure any of them can slow him down. Maybe Z but he goes for shot fakes too often.

What we need to understand is that Sat. will be another entirely different day. No one knows who will hit shots and who will have the hoops gods against them.

But the Illini have skills and talent...not to mention determination...and they also have a roster of Div 1 scholarship athletes that are pretty well battle tested. They will come to compete and win. But to win, they will need to perform near their avg. numbers with a couple, hopefully 3 pt. fg %, somewhat above.

Duke has always and will play at a very high speed while we play at a very slow pace. How we adapt, if we adapt, and how we take advantage of our opportunities is a huge question to be answered on Sat.

Like 7 Burger Boys, most top 5-10 ranked. We will need our absolute best game to beat them.
you cant win a Natty if you can’t play your A game two times in a row

That post game presser was an all-timer. Crean said he was surprised Syracuse played zone. My dad and I were watching that press conference. My dad looks at me and asks if Crean had watched any game video on Syracuse since, oh, 1984 or so. :)

You know, Cam Boozer and David Mirkovic are very similar players. Same height, same weight, both great passers, both play under the rim. Boozer is a better finisher around the rim and is probably better about keeping his head up while dribbling. Boozer also gets more calls from the refs and gets to be in commercials.

did not realize demaury is such a bad shooter.

Literally shooting 40% from 3 but they’re totally sagging ? (and he keeps missing)

Look, we will be playing with very little game pressure. Duke is 150-2 or whatever they are and they will be a fairly sizable favorite (8 points or so is my guess)

Let it fly and have fun.

Sounds way too generalized, but what you need to do against Duke is pack the paint and make them take perimeter shots. The only guy you can’t leave is Evans.

Easier said than done but they just want to pound it in with Boozer. Take away their go-to.
