"Groce spent five seasons at Illinois, guiding the Illini to an NCAA Tournament appearance in his first year." Yikes. The author might have wanted to leave out that last independent clause to make this sentence sound a bit better.
Charleston has a lot more NIL to work with and better attendance is what I've heard.John Groce to Charleston.. seems like a strange lateral move to me.. maybe wants to be on the beach? Who knows. Best of luck to him.
And you can imagine Groce just feeling that he's accomplished all he can Akron and seeking out a new challenge.Charleston has a lot more NIL to work with and better attendance is what I've heard.
remove tourney appearance and add "including a buzzer-beater against #1 Indiana". That game and the Maui Invitational that season are the only favorable parts of the Groce regime."Groce spent five seasons at Illinois, guiding the Illini to an NCAA Tournament appearance in his first year." Yikes. The author might have wanted to leave out that last independent clause to make this sentence sound a bit better.

First of all, have you ever been to Akron? LOL! Secondly, from what I read, Charleston has bigger NIL resources and doesn't have to compete with football. I think Groce took Akron about as far as you can. I'm guessing he learned that fit is really important with the IL move.John Groce to Charleston.. seems like a strange lateral move to me.. maybe wants to be on the beach? Who knows. Actually, the torpedoes were "in the water" in his first year.I didn't read it, but was the next sentence: "And then proceeded to torpedo the program into oblivion"
damn…. talk about losing focusUNC and Lloyd working on terms … I think that one gets done unless AZ significantly steps up and fixes the issues Lloyd currently has with the situation …
welp, this could taint their run.UNC and Lloyd working on terms … I think that one gets done unless AZ significantly steps up and fixes the issues Lloyd currently has with the situation …

How common is this that a coach (presumably his agent) would be working out the terms of a deal with another team while preparing to coach one or two games on the biggest stage? Seems like that would be a MAJOR distraction, especially if word were to leak out.UNC and Lloyd working on terms … I think that one gets done unless AZ significantly steps up and fixes the issues Lloyd currently has with the situation …
Obviously want Illini to win the national championship, but it would look very strange if Arizona won the title and then proceeded to lose their head coach.UNC and Lloyd working on terms … I think that one gets done unless AZ significantly steps up and fixes the issues Lloyd currently has with the situation …
