I don't drink anymore, but I have been saving this bottle of TroubleMaker's Mark with the orange and blue wax for 24 years (since the Bears season in Champaign) to be opened upon our first national championship.

Probably won't bring it with me to Indianapolis, but will instead keep it on hand for deserving/suitably appreciative guests to enjoy out of these old plastic party cups that my parents used back in the '70s and '80s.

*Locals only trivia: I'm fairly confident that Indian Acres Day Camp poached that Chief design for t-shirts in the early '80s.

Let's hope that you do not have to age that beauty any longer than the end of next week.

It is eerily similar.

My grandpa’s hat. We found it about 15 years ago going through some boxes in his garage. I begged him for it for months before he surprised me with it on my 16th birthday.

He passed away in 2018. He didn’t get to see the amazing turn around our program has gone through. What I would give to sit down for a few hours and watch the game with him this weekend.

I will try and find the picture (currently packed up after a move) but my pride and joy for Illini memorabilia is a signed picture of the 88-89 team posing in front of Assembly Hall. I was 9 at the time. We were a very poor family (food stamps, church paid for our clothes, food, and often mortgage). Most of the Christmas gifts we got were from the giving tree you see at the mall and our church.

My grandfather was friends with Lou Henson so my dad was allowed to come to practice one day and hit up the players for an autograph and this was my gift one year. Complete with a Rodney Jones signature in the grass as I don't believe he was in the picture.

Never letting go of it.
