I can see both sides to this. There's certainly value in keeping the core, but if all those guys demand market $ to stay, there may be even more value to be found elsewhere. Hopefully our success brings more NIL $ so we can have it all, but on a limited budget (relative to the top ~5), continually having the #1 group of ex-players might just be a byproduct of successfully finding value and/or coaching guys up.
F value, I also just want to root for these guys again.

guessing Haralson is at the top of our board (right, Indy? :))

mildly concerned about his 20% 3FG, but that was ~1 attempt per game. staff is probably thinking that he can improve that percentage to respectable, anyway. to a lesser extent, same thing with Dre. not gonna get too hung up on 2 or 3, they're both wings. a 3 man wing rotation of Dre, Haralson and Jake sounds pretty flippin' good to me

I’d guess it’s Swain, Haggerty, Juke, Blackwell for home run swing 1A option at guard. Haralson would be a 1B in my eyes. Not sure how you could play him along Dre (obviously not a guarantee to come back).

Give me any mixture of Cox, 1A guard, Dre, Mirk, Tomi. That’s a top 3 seed caliber team.

Is Haralson better than Juke who was 2nd ALL Acc and avg 21.6 a game? I am not as familiar with him.

Andrej Stojakovic with four shooters is a nightmare: you must either abandon assignment on the perimeter or force a defender into a precarious one-on-one matchup which is nearly an automatic bucket. If he could raise the 3% to just the low 30s where he was at Stanford/Cal and improve the awareness a bit when doubled, he would be a nuclear offensive weapon (and I do not think those improvements are anywhere near out of his reach).
I truly believe an additional year with the same program helps a player. TSJ was a great player his first year with Illinois but he was on another level altogether a year later. Not saying Andrej is TSJ… but I’m also not saying he’s not.

While we probably all mostly believe that second year is hugely beneficial at a program, TSJ was an old for his age, physically dominant, NBA player playing college.

Interesting way to look at it.

I think you just have to expect that players will leave. It's pretty rare these days for a program to retain a very high % of their production.
Purdue doesn’t have a problem doing it

👀 … Wake Forest … We’re back …

Any chance on this one? Or is he only an option if Andrej doesn't come back? It sounds like our returning players are still kinda up in the air, but I'd think this FF run might've changed some minds.

Get 4-shooters around Dre and spend all off season teaching him how to kick out when a double comes and that is elite offense. He is already an awesome finisher, he just sometimes dribbles himself into 3 guys and does not pass out. He has been much better at not doing that lately.
I have been missing from this site for a while but I have a question for the insiders. What are the chances of Andre coming back next year? Im getting Tre White vibes with the three schools in three years so far. He got hurt, had came off the bench, & it seems like that helped to balance the team a bit.

You said Flory is going for $5M. Any guess to what the price will be for Juke Harris?

Juke would be a great replacement for Andrej if he chooses to leave the Illini after this season.
