If he was to come here then buh bye Jake. Pryce and Andre would play a ton . I dont see how we can afford all that and Blackwell.
If bringing all three of these guys here plus retaining our other core guys...if all that's a possibility, something tells me that a few sugar daddy alums would be able to figure out how we can afford these guys.

im rich cash money GIF

If you picked up him and Blackwell, that would be quite a revenge tour through recruitment...

And I would have to imagine the #1 offense again. Both those those dudes can flat out score. Just keep swinging the ball and when it gets to Sandfort there’s no way they will stop him. Too fast of a release.

He started and played 28 mpg at Mercer as a Freshman, then willing went up a level knowing it'd be a lesser role. Why would he now, having earned more time and responsibility at the Big Ten level, go back down to have the thing he could have just had all along?
Maybe he just wants to play more. He only has one more year of college bb left.

We need a point guard who can drive, dish and get us 10 assists a game on average. I would rather have a pure point guard and either keep Dre or get a guy like Blackwell. Get a guy who can replace Ben, keep everyone else and we are set.

Our system does not lend itself to that type of PG. We matchup hunt and go one on one too much for that.

Double his NIL and give him the Ben role …

That’s an upgrade for us …
I mean there's no actual possible way this could happen, right? Forget Ben's role. He's a 30mpg starter and would be a mind-bogglingly huge addition. That's a we're making a Natty run kind of addition. I can't imagine the NIL it'd take to pull this off, retain both Andrej and Mirk, and add someone like Blackwell. Those 4 together have to be over $12M... But man... If that were to happen? Holy moly. #1 preseason ranking seems accurate with any decent center. This is pipe dream stuff though, yes?

Given not a single player averaged 10 assists this year, the bar may be set too high in general with this approach.

Lol, I love these posts. There were precisely zero players who averaged 10 assists a game last season in all of D1 and only 5 players in the entire Big 10 who averaged half that (5 assists per game), and none of those 5 played for our team that just went to the Final Four. Yet we NEED someone who is going to average 10, or what, I guess we are going to suck?

Did Jason Jaktys take a medical redshirt to go with his first year as a redshirt still be a freshman next season? I mean as a deep bench guy that keeps working with Fletch at 6'10" getting bigger each year and hopefully be 250lbs next season for little or 0 cash that is a good teammate isnt a bad thing. I dont think he expects to play but hopefully he is getting better and maybe in a couple years provide another big body and depth. Like the Badgers have done before and i think that was the plan whrn he came here. Now if he took a medical redshirt he will get another year.

Just to save you the disappointment, only one player in the history of D1 basketball has averaged 10 assists in a major conference: Nelson Haggerty did it for Baylor in what was, at the time, the Southwest Conference (all the big Texas schools) in 1994-95.

Also, we just had the second best offense in modern NCAA history without anyone averaging even half that number of assists.

I actually love watching a pure PG though, so I’d welcome one with open arms if we do go that route.

Noth8ng wrong with a guy who can dish and drive. I was being unrealistic on the number but a guy like Fears or Smith would be someone we could use
