Am I crazy to feel like that bench would have a chance to finish .500 in the B1G? Probably crazy... but if Coleman and Morillo live up to their ratings... maybe not.

Coleman is ELITE … Morillo is likely a 2-3 year guy but has All Big Ten potential …

You’ve got Jake and Z … We know what they can bring …

I mean that’s as talented of a bench as you’re going to find …

Since everyone’s curious about where things stand …

Obviously would like to add Blackwell …

Ty not being there last night is interesting … Does he have the role he wants ? Brad definitely made it clear he’s got a spot if he wants it … I could see Lee sliding into that role as the 10th guy …

Could also see us adding a Misko special big guy just so we’ve got a little more depth there … Pepperdine kid is an option but other top secret options as well …

Blackwell
Vaaks
Andrej
Mirk
Tomi

Bench:
Q Coleman
Z
Jake
Morillo
Ty

Deep Bench:
B Lee
Jakstys
Ethan Brown (could redshirt)
Landon Davis (could redshirt)
Fagbemi
I mean...

That is a ton of talent. Even the end of the bench guys...I legit like Ethan Brown alot. He's gonna need time but I love the way he plays. Would love to have B Lee back as well.

The backup 4/5 is very interesting to me...because as far as actual holes on the roster, a backup 4/5 who can just defend and rebound would be the last piece for me. Mirk is going to be hogging all the minutes, as he should, but an extra few fouls and a guy who is 6'9-6'10 who can be strong in the paint is just icing on the cake.

Fagbeni and Landon Davis taking up a roster spots is a bit of a head scratcher.

Lee and Ty might be waiting for confirmation that we are bringing in Blackwell. If we don’t they have a much better path to earn minutes.
I watched tape of Landon Davis. He is better than you think. He also appears bigger, looks every bit of 6-9 215. Ked on Illini Guys was very complimentary of him on the podcast last night as well.

Need a quality backup 4/5 for the inevitable referee screw job in the Natl Title Game that puts Tomi and Mirk in foul trouble before the 2nd TV break.

Mingo’s are not going to be an option for us …

We had some conversations to get an idea of the financial piece and figure out where they were at in the process in case of emergency … And to be a little more detailed, us getting “involved” helped raise the price a little bit which only tightens Orlando’s relationship with those connections … Never hurts …

It’s like magic … 🪄

So, I have time on my hands today because no butt stuff. (insane story I won't interrupt this for, maybe I'll general chat it because it's ridiculous :ROFLMAO: )

To follow up @Indy Illini Fan giant Brad pic, I was going down the Blackwell + Andrej playing time/together rabbit hole wondering about the fit, attitude, adjustments, and opportunity for them in this offense with our staff.

I genuinely believe they have to be thinking that their best chance to get to an NBA draft slot is that instead of inserting into some lineup where they are the sole focus and stat stuffer, they can easily see (and hopefully reminded by staff) how Wagler used this as a springboard by showing his versatility and selflessness in a system that is now undeniably one of the best in the country for elite guard prep for the next level. Ayo, KW, TSJ, Willy, and now Wagler all made significant jumps without being a solo show for 35+ mpg.

I think this was already posted before, but trust me, it absolutely won't hurt you to watch again! I see a lot of Wagler type ability off the dribble and step back 3's...but also his catch and shoot is going to be so much better than what we had at that spot.
The opportunity to mix that (again) with Andrej driving to the lane, and Vaaks with similar step back and catch and shoot.....if I'm Blackwell's camp or Andrej's camp....I'm telling them a bigger bag while tempting, is offset by the potential to sneak into the 1st round. Especially Blackwell....my goodness.

What a ride we are on!🧡

Yep, i 100% agree with this and i dont know much about the Pepperdine guy. He seems to be more of a stretch 4 at 6'9" 215 but if the price is right i agree with you with how this roster is built. A little more insurance depth incase of injury would be great.

No shade at Ty … But …

Question Mark What GIF by MOODMAN
It's probably overstating it, but he was the guy to always get the rebound. He was the guy who could get to the rim. And we sorely didn't have enough of either anywhere on the roster, so he ended up with the ball more than he should have.

It's more a comment on the massive upgrade the roster has seen over the past few years.
