To go along with everything else I just said about Andrej, with a full offseason to work on his game, I fully expect his three-point percentage to be at a much more median number. I certainly think somewhere in the 30-33% range is very doable. Better than that and he becomes very, very difficult to guard.

Stojakovic is priority one for me personally.

I don't care about his shooting, we don't have a player that can rebound and defend like Ty can do consistently. I think there's a role for him. Just sad he's not here.

Also, selfishly speaking, with everything he's gone through I want to see him play for us on a national championship contending team.

He's the type of guy that gets you the win against Nebraska, MSU or UCLA.

I still think we should be fantastic next year and it's not a huge loss team wise, just an emotional loss and covers a hole this team has had the past couple of years.

It's a bummer, but I'm surprised people are surprised.

Obviously it has been a weird situation and I was personally stunned when he chose to come back this year and will always wonder how he would have been integrated if he wasn't hurt, but the moment he chose to redshirt I assumed we would never see him on the floor again, and ALL of his peers in the program are gone. He's a Chester Frazier era player.
There is no greater measure for how far this program has progressed, than the complete lack of worry my usually-pessimistic self has at this turn of events.

Couple of years ago, I would have been really upset. Today, my wife heard it first, told me, and my response was 'not surprised'.

Best of luck Ty.

No hard feelings about the Ty situation.

Him coming back would’ve all along been a pleasant surprise. He redshirted 2 years ago, which CLEARLY indicated he was unsure of his role and where he’d fit in. I do not see how that’d be any clearer on this team — as it’s likely an even more loaded roster.

Good luck wherever he ends up (hopefully not the B10).

Bingo …

Tried to hint at it earlier this AM …

Hate seeing Ty go but the role just likely wasn’t going to be there for him next year …

I do think Lee could step into that role …
People will say we have a huge hole at the backup 4 (if you believed Ty could play there in the first place), but we don’t.

Zvonimir will get the reps there when Mirk is out. We absolutely need him on the court more.

If Ty/Andrej left regardless of Blackwell they'd almost certainly get another 2/3/4 and presumably have a good chunk of money to do so...
I don’t know about that. If we lose out on one of Blackwell or Andrej, it likely won’t be for financial reasons but more so for fit/role reasons (only so much usage to go around).

So we might have the financial resources for another addition, but do we have the touches?

Could see the staff going with one of the two, then opening up more space for the freshman.

I think many forget that he was banged up with knee injuries in the beginning part of the season and then had a high ankle sprain in February. It was great to see him have explosiveness in the tourney, but I am sure those nagging injuries are a legitimate factor in some of the issues he had shooting.

Getting fully healthy with a full offseason routine, and it is hard to not see him being able to regress back to the mean shooting from 3 (hopefully even better). I am super excited to see what a fully healthy Andrej looks like.

I guarantee he knows... With his dad's NBA connections, I'm sure he gets regular feedback. The only thing really holding him back from getting there is a reliable 3 point shot. (even if its just from the short corner) He doesn't have to be great from out there, but he has to be a threat.

He could also use a bit of work on court awareness when he gets downhill. He has a tendency to get tunnel vision when he gets by his defender. When help comes, he needs to be more willing to find his teammates. They are also very good players. Tough to break some of those habits when you've played on so many teams that need you to be "The Guy". We need that guy occasionally, but mostly he just needs to be one of the the guys.
