4 Gs and at least 2 Fs that brought up the ball last year.
Not according to the team's own roster.A lot of forwards on that list
Howard Williams would be the guy I want out of that entire group.
Davis is the only one officially listed as a forward. Stoj, Morillo, and Vaaks are an inch taller but still listed as guards.A lot of forwards on that list
I'll take the opinion of the staff over any of us non-insiders who have pretty much seen nothing of our freshmen play other than highlight tapes against high school competition or a playground AAU game. I'll admit that other than Coleman and Morillo the other frosh are not highly ranked but hopefully BU and staff can continue finding diamonds in the rough with one or more of the others. And, Morillo can play point in a pinch if needed. I'm more worried about a backup for Mirk. Tomi and big Z need to get tougher defending and rebounding in the paint when Mirk is resting or in foul trouble.Well, the staff would disagree with you here.
If Brandon Lee wasn't good enough to play as a freshman, then neither will Brown most likely. Lee was the 99th OVR prospect and Brown is 118th.
Yes recruiting rankings DO matter. Plus, we're talking about freshman.
Keaton was the exception, not the rule.
Actually, Jakstys is more likely to see a rise in PT than Brown. Will be his 4th year in the program... and his rebound rate is terrific in the minimal time he's gotten - 17.5% OR and 22.5% DR. Seemed decently athletic as a lob threat.
This post proves that the poster has no idea what is in the minds of this team and coaches. I certainly don't, but if there was a way to know, I would bet my life that this is not the case.It is a shame that they want to be a team that can win and not the team to beat.
If it happens then perhaps it's to close holes that the staff finds out about during the summer workouts? How does a mid-summer signing agree with Brad's expressed desire to be able work with the full team for a full summer?
100%. All of this.I just don’t buy the waiting until the summer thing. I will die on the hill screaming they need another guard. Badly.
Bring an experienced guy to solidify that spot. We are trying to win a national championship. In my opinion, you need experienced guards to do that.
Look, there is ZERO doubt that @LvilleILL1 and many, many others know more about this team and its players than I do. Ethan Brown may be all that and a bag of chips, but I personally would prefer to not be in a position where we are depending on him. We are 1 freak injury in the backcourt from possibly being in that spot. I don’t like that.
Get a guy with some experience in here to bolster things. Keaton Wagler was 1 of 1. That likely will never happen again.
For a team with serious title aspirations, I want to count on as few freshmen as possible. No problem with Coleman and Morillo playing a lot. After that I want as many veterans as possible.
JMHO.
Good LordDon't blame Blackwell. Would be rough going from top 2 guard on Wisconsin to #5 guard behind Coleman/Vaaks/Brown/Morillo
ILL
My golden Darby says be sure to include some pizza crust and maybe grilled burgers? He will sign anythingI'd imagine his NIL ask is pretty reasonable. Some decent kibble, a supply of treats, and a few tennis balls and should be able to lock him down.
Wagler was way down in the rankings. I think Brown will be in the rotation during the non conference as Brad will use 10 guys so we do not run into the mess we were in with only 6 or 7 guys. We will use our depth this coming year.If Brandon Lee wasn't good enough to play as a freshman, then neither is Brown. Lee was the 99th OVR prospect and Brown is 118th.
Yes recruiting rankings DO matter. Plus, we're talking about freshman (this isn't 3 or 4 years down the line).
Keaton was the exception, not the rule.

Lee had Bam and Keaton in front of him.It is true Brown is more likely to play as a freshman than Lee.
It’s also true a big part of that is Brown won’t be having a top 5 pick playing 35 minutes infront of him.
Slow down on the BlueguysIf Brandon Lee wasn't good enough to play as a freshman, then neither is Brown. Lee was the 99th OVR prospect and Brown is 118th.

This is has very little depth, which is going to hurt us.
Goodness just swap the word "is" for "team"
Was wondering this myself. I think it was said he had a spot if he wanted it. Obviously if we offer his spot first that would change. If we aren't going big and just getting an average end of the rotation guy as suggested today, would rather have the guy back who's played in big games and been with the team years even if he isnt the best fit to what we do now.Is Ty 100% gone? Or did he put his name in the portal to at least see what else is out there, and there's a non-zero chance he could return?
I actually think he would be exactly the type of veteran guard we could use. He's steady -- can defend, rebound, bring ball up the court as needed. Would give us a lot of insurance across 1-4 positions. And we know from a culture standpoint he's as good as anyone.
I'm just not sold on Mr Blackwell, gut feeling, just not the right fit at the right time. I don’t see him putting up numbers like he did at Wisconsin. Sometimes people blow up like Keaton, I forsee a blow down? Revisit this prediction in about 10 monthsI doubt that any of our freshmen will be as good as Blackwell who will be a senior. They may be as good or better than him when they are seniors.
Wagler may have been our best freshman ever. If any of this year's freshmen are that good it will be awesome and shocking.
Any player ranked within 20 spots either side of the top 100 is just as likely to play as the other. It comes down to if they can jump up to the d1 level and contribute on the floor. Lee struggled at times with the minutes he got especially on the offensive side. Besides Keaton, I believe Braden Smith was also ranked outside the top 100 and look how that turned out.If Brandon Lee wasn't good enough to play as a freshman, then neither is Brown. Lee was the 99th OVR prospect and Brown is 118th.

I think highly of ZZ, and the other 4. Outstanding adds by the staff. 5 Americans,I'm trying to not to put too much pressure on the kid, but Brown has the potential to shock a lot of people in here next year. All I will say for now.
JJ is completing his second season and next year will be his 3rd in the program. Also, as a poster stated earlier, his reported injury was the same as the poster's son....and that poster stated that it was an 18 month recovery. If that is also true for JJ, he will not be playing next season.Actually, Jakstys is more likely to see a rise in PT than Brown.
