Seems like the "Wilson to go higher than 4" buzz has died down a bit, huh?
Wilson is a #1 pick a lot of years, but it's pretty hard to see a compelling case to take him over any of the top 3. His combine measurements and drills were very good, but not enough to see him as clearly having a higher celling than those guys, and he has more existing holes in his game. I think he is clearly the 4th best prospect. Who is going at #4 might be the easiest bet in the draft.

On a different note, I just don't see all the love for Nate Ament... He's tall, he's a decent athlete, but 40% fg%? Disappeared often, especially against high quality opponents. He's a serious project, IMO. I get that his upside is intriguing, but he was wildly inconsistent last year. Not a gamble I would take in the lottery this year. There are too many guys who simply played better. I don't think he is an impact player next season. You'd have to be pretty comfortable in your GM office to pick him in the top 10. Even if I'm locked in on a bigger wing, I'm taking a long look at Lopez first.

Huh? My 2nd most watched team was Tennessee this year. He had some bad games but he had an 11 game stretch during SEC play where he averaged 22.8 ppg. He started slow and got hurt in the season finale.

Side note: The guy you replied to said Nate Ament was going to be drafted ahead of Wagler.

Round 1 - Pick 5

"The Clippers are viewed as a potential trade partner for anyone looking to move up, but if they keep the pick and choose between the quarter of freshmen lead guards, Wagler may be the only one who can fit with Darius Garland. The positional size and shooting give him on/off-ball versatility that would be critical in this context, but it's his feel for the game and natural instincts that may be his true superpower."

I think we absolutely did not. However, I am not complaining at all. Very happy with Mirk
I think the reason for saying "we won the trade" is that Mirk is no where near the NBA prospect Morez is. The measurables speak for themselves.

So, there's either two scenarios with that:

Morez stays at Illinois, has the year he had at Michigan, and leaves to be a 1st round pick

Morez stays at Illinois, the fit isn't as great, and he doesn't have the year he had at Michigan (or the year Mirk had this year, in terms of impact).

Both scenarios are worse than our current situation with Mirkovic, since you know you'll get him for 2 or 3 years.

Yes when he got hurt against BAMA, their offense looked awful. They blew a huge lead and lost that game (and lost their next few games as well).

I think the "Morez vs Mirkovic" discussion isn't really accurate though, right? It was really Morez vs Tomi, in terms of who we prioritized.

And no, we didn't win that trade either way, because Michigan won a title and we went home. Not that we would have necessarily won with Morez, but you can't sit here and think Michigan really wished they would have had Mirk when they won it all with the roster they had. At best it was a push.
