NBA Thread 2026

Spurs went 3/17 from 3 in the second half. And only 2/14 on paint FG compared to 12/19 paint FG in the first half. Lol. One bad three after one bad three after one bad three. Oh and they had 10 turnovers in the second half compared to two in the first half. Historical choke job. Great win for the Knicks.

This.

Did Towns get a piece? That is a WIDE OPEN layup.
Yes, Towns got just enough of the ball with his finger to alter the inbounds pass and blow up a play that seemed headed for an uncontested game-winning layup. Hart slipped a bit on the screen action and Castle was all alone. One for the guard-the-inbounder side last night. On the previous play, the Spurs didn't, doubling Brunson instead, then committed the classic blunder of failing to track the inbounder. OG was so alone at the 3P line that he gave an "I'm open!" signal to Brunson, but this is the NBA and the guy on the yearbook cover gets to take the last shot. When OG saw this, he immediately headed down the lane, which parted like the Red Sea, for the putback.

KAT saved Hart from NY Sports Infamy....that would have been botched dunk/blown late boxout on Castle/losing Castle for a game-winner as time expired.

Charles Barkley summed it best about the Spurs collapse. “That was the dumbest basketball team in the history of civilization”

You saw the very definition of ‘live by the three, die by the three’ in the same game. They got up 30 and started playing like they were in a pick up game at LA Fitness.

Still doesn’t take anything away from the extraordinary come back by the Knicks on the grandest stage. They literally had MSG shaking.

KAT did his thing. The fans did their thing.

The refs should have done their thing. I definitely agree they need space. Not sure how it gets done exactly. But KAT trying to get an edge is smart move.

I didn’t think Harper would be this good when he was at Rutgers. But I guess his game translates better in the NBA than college

Huge no flagrant call on Wemby.

99% of the time, you’ll see that play get called a F1. It’s a clear violation of the landing space.

But since that would’ve been Wemby’s 4th flagrant point of the playoffs, he would’ve been suspended for Game 6.

They opted to not call it pending review.

Spurs definitely with the friendlier whistle today.
bit of an understatement given the obvious missed flagrant foul against Wemby (on Brunson, again) that would have led to his suspension for next game

SA was the better team. They just didn't execute in the final moments.

Look at the pace and confidence they played with in the 1st QTR of this game. Compared to the timid, slow version of the 4th QTR.
