Game didn't matter but what's interesting to me about this "backups" or "subs" narrative is that while the US started out with mostly backups (and Türkiye was about 1/2 backups), the US subs were all guys who started against Australia and/or Paraguay, while Türkiye went deeper into their bench, putting in guys who hadn't played a single minute in the tournament. By the time that last goal was scored, the US had more of its typical starters on the field than Türkiye, who was down to just Güler and the goalie. Not a big deal for me. A bunch of subs not being organized defensively is completely unexpected. The US earned the right to make that game a friendly.
Great game, US has been playing great, Türkiye played horribly first two games but credit where it's due in this one.
I can't remember the last time I've see a player be so consistently bad at timing his runs. What happened to Weah-he looked lost out there yesterday. He's pretty much unplayable at this point.
