What I'm hearing from watching Fifa 26 is that there are talented players who aren't starting or playing because they are not in form due to layoffs from injuries.

Mihalo probably was never in form while at Illinois, don't believe we saw his best. That being said he seemed too small and not athletic for top tier NCAA. Big East might still be too athletic for him, possibly as a back up with 15 mpg.

Why? If you're the #20 played in 2028, and fall to #40 in 2027, then the value of that player dropped significantly after the reclass.

In 2028, there were 19 better options of players to choose from.

In 2027, there are now 39.

Thats a significant discrepancy. Yes the player is the same player and person, but in the previous setting, his value was a lot greater than in the new setting.

Now, if Pettigrew is #20 and falls to #25, then the difference isn't all too worthwhile.

The point is there's a difference in what we expect the player's role/impact to be -- between the events of them being ranked 40th instead of 20th.

Quentin Coleman is the 17th ranked composite prospect, while Lucas Morillo is 47th. (prototypical 20 spot difference we're talking about)

Yes both will play, but there's a difference in what we project each of their impacts to be.

Coleman is very likely a starter, while Morillo is likely our 6th / 7th / 8th man. One's expected to be 25-30 minutes, while the other is likely in the 13-20 range. One's projected as a first round pick, while the other isn't on any draft boards.

Obviously this can all change once the season starts, but you get the point about expected impact between a 20 spot window.

I do think this is somewhat moot because it's unlikely Pettigrew drops 20 spots. Most cases, it's around 10. And depending on when he announces the re-class, he'll have the opportunity to make up that ranking senior year.

IIRC, Will Riley was #9 and dropped to #19, and then in the final update finished at #14.

This is a terrible example. You are comparing two different players and their rankings as opposed to the EXACT SAME player, regardless of ranking. Pettigrew will be Pettigrew whether he is 20th or 50th. Just Coleman will NEVER be Lucas, and vice versa.

When you add Petrovic to Seton Hall’s roster, they drop a spot in T-Rank from #74 to #75. Offense stays the same, defense gets worse. But I’m not sure last year is a great representation of the caliber of player he is. Will be excited to see how he does down a level.

I said "above average", but I know what you're saying.

Last year the Big East was awful. It was UCONN, St. John's and......blah. I think Nova might have had an ok season? Creighton was down, Marquette was WAY down, Georgetown was awful, Seton Hall was meh, DePaul wasn't very good, but was in the middle of the pack and so on.

Now, over the prior few years, you're correct.

That conference is not on par with the Big 10, Big 12, ACC or SEC right now. It's a good situation for him to get his footing.

Surprised Peetro came back to college

Money option must be a real rough overseas for him as he's not getting much in college this season. Tbh I thought he should have went even lower than Seton Hall and killed it a year in hopes to get a bigger senior year payday. Maybe he'll surprise at Seton Hall.

Yeah the Big East is a good league, but I’d still call it down a level from the B1G. The Big East has 4 projected teams in the top 35 next year according to Torvik, the B1G has 10.

Not exactly true. A year difference in development during the years your strength changes the most is not the same player. 19 yr old Pettigrew should be better than 18 yr old Pettigrew. Its definitely a difference.
