Beating an SEC team in a legit bowl in back-to-back seasons... the thought occurs to me from time to time and it makes me feel joy anew every time.
It may be the most impressive data point we have since, when, last century? Incredible.

And such a brilliant play call as well. Everyone thinking the deep back’s getting the carry, and you run a quick hitter to the fullback.
South Carolina was a great start, but taking out Tennessee in Tennessee… a team that prides itself at being at the top of the SEC with their “Big Dawgs” of legacy and strength, was a shot heard round the world of College Football.
There isn’t the rebuttal “Oh well, it was just a bottom SEC program. Call us when it’s a better team and not a cupcake.” It was a program that’s always relevant. The reverse being something like Mississippi State beating Penn State in Pennsylvania.
And yet, we'll beat a couple (or more) of those teams that have more "top hundred" players.
Even more disturbing is 14 IU players.
I’d love to see the updated version of this on November 1 to see how training camp battles played out, portal surprises, injuries.
If there was a two deep version of this as well, that would also be interesting.
