I've really soured on Alcantara.

The Merrill Kelly trade between the DBacks and Rangers last year would be about what you’d do for Wacha. A top 15 in the organization prospect and a couple non-prospects.
I’ve never been as high on Alvantara as many, but we’ve talking about a guy who has had only 41 official at-bats so far over parts of three seasons. And he has improved his stats in minors this year. His power has been playing much better this year — equaled his HR total from last year in more than 160 fewer at-bats — improved his BA/OBP and he just turned 24 this month. The key question is what the other organizations still think of him if Cubs look to include him in a deal.
Cubs rumored to be bringing up Triantos. Possibly showcasing him to be in a trade package?
I wondered the same thing. I did see something on Twitter that Ramirez looked uncomfortable after a swing in last game. Maybe not enough to put him in IL, but Cubs want to be careful with him and Triantos will allow that.
Officially official. Triantos up and Alcantara down. Could be they they’ve also soured on Alcantara. Or could be they want Triantos to get some MLB at bars because one of him, Shaw or Ramirez is going to be traded.
Also today, Pomeranz cleared waivers and agreed to a minor league assignment in Iowa. Makes sense that he’d want to see if the Cubs can help him get back to what he was doing with them last year.
It could also be that Shaw is being dangled OR that they haven't been getting jack s**t out of the DH spot that they're willing to try anything. There are a LOT of bad ABs going on with this group, especially with RISP.
I think Shaw’s ceiling is Ian Happ, which is pretty damn good. The question is whether he can hit consistently enough to be that.
You have to get a good return for him, but he’s hardly untradeable.

What would Shaw bring with all his injury problems this season? I wouldn't want to sell low with him.
I feel the opposite. Above average defenders with consistent bats are far easier to find than quality pitching depth. Deal him away for an arm and don't look back.
Hasn’t done anything? You mean in his 20 ABs? He’s never even gotten more than two ABs in a game. I’d have no problem if they traded him, but not at any kind of discount.

Welp, it isn't often you put an 11-0 shellacking on Paul Skenes and the Pirates. He did tie his career strikeout record (11) in less than six innings, but Master PCA is currently too much for almost anyone. And Imanaga has a .24 ERA in 36 innings against the Buccos

It will be interesting. Though Ohtani isn’t pitching, he still had crazy good stats when he was. Their offensive numbers are pretty close to identical. May come down to PCA’s SBs and defense vs Ohtani’s pitching and being on the better team. Voter fatigue and not wanting to vote for Ohtani yet again could play a part too.

Can anyone think of the last time the universally acknowledged best defensive player in the game put up a .900 OPS 30/30 season? Do we have to go back to Willie Mays?
Andruw Jones wasn’t the stolen base threat PCA was in 05 and it took Albert Pujols being Albert Pujols to deny him an MVP.
The Mays comparison is valid at least for this season right now .
