But if our #6thman is relegated to #7thman, is our #8thman really good enough to become our #9thman? Most stressful offseason EVER!!!

I don't think it's a "deflection from having to give Hurley any credit."

What's resulted in this pile up is the claim that facing Duke would've been better for our chances of victory than UCONN (there's been numerous posts asserting that).

The reasoning for that claim has been Scheyer's an awful coach and Hurley's an awe-inspiring coach.

To that, people are just pointing out the final play of the Duke game didn't have anything to do with Scheyer or Hurley, and was just a fluky sequence of events in the most pivotal moment.
Coaching or not, there is hard data over three games showing that system they run has us by the balls defensively. 3 lowest scoring games over three years isn't coincidence.

*sigh* I never would've guessed I'd long for the days when the Loyalty board debate was about USC's bench prowess... yet here we are.

Luther Head's leap of excitement is always my favorite part of this clip. Dude was playing on a bum leg almost the whole game.
My favorite single moment in that game is when Luther gets that steal in OT & drives in for the layup to put us up like 6. Enberg's call over the top of it is just his trademark "OH MY". You could see the pain on Luther's face as he was taking it to the basket. Just an absolute warrior.

One of the side stories of that game is this was one of Enberg's last great moments he was on a national call for. He was around 80 for that game & was sharp as he ever was. Just masterful on the call.

In this case? Yes, and it’s not even arguable.
Agreed. In the case where a team has an almost insurmountable advantage, the only way to lose is by making this kind of mistake. It's just about the equivalent of deciding to pass the ball instead of going into victory formation, leaving the opponent the chance for a return or hail mary.

In a vacuum, one play doesn't make the game. On this specific case, it most certainly does. If Boozer holds the ball, he's shooting two free throws with around 6 to go. More than likely they are up at least three and at least can't lose.

It's Jokic if Jokic wasnt also the best passer in the NBA.
Jokic is nowhere near the rim protector that Kofi was. He was a flat out intimidator that was an absolute powerhouse. He could bring a rim down. Jokic is nowhere near that type of player. Jokic is far more skilled. There's no doubt about that.

Plummer had a quick trigger and unlimited range. He could shoot it from anywhere.

If you combine the two..... there's just no comp.
