Standing frequently (for those that can) is something we should be encouraging a lot more often and would solve a lot of seat related concerns 😉
I know some of you have had season tickets longer than I have, but my family is entering our 22nd year this year of season tickets. started with just my wife and me the first year we got married and now it's us two, her parents, our two kids, and her sister. Anyway, I will say this is one area that I am so happy has changed. We've only ever sat in the horseshoe area (the edge of it; section 110/111). The first 5-ish years if I stood during the game, I would get crabbed at. There were many times ushers would get called on me.

That has changed drastically. I still wish the fans stood more & longer during the games, but I do see more standing, and I definitely have not had people crab about if I stand in a long while.

I'm interested to see when it's officially opened is the NW 247 beat reporter stated on the Eyes on B1G podcast that the new student section will not have seats. As in no seats. Not regular seats. Not bleachers. Nothing. If you're in the student section, you will either stand or sit on concrete designed/shaped for standing only.

It has railings to lean against like European soccer stadiums.

Looking at both sides of the argument on for and against having seats in the Student Section:

Aside from during Halftime and when we do our card flip, when are you ever sitting in the student section? Though, during halftime is a big portion of the game you want a seat to sit and relax and watch the band playing.

I'll give credit where credit is due, it looks absolutely awesome IMO, and I applaud every single program for spending whatever resources they have to try to get better. There is no quicker way for you to expose yourself as smooth brained than dropping an "All that just to go 5-7" comment somewhere, lol ... so the space brain logic is that a team should never try to improve things unless they're already good...?

Anyway, it's going to look great painted orange on November 28.

I’m very happy for them . They deserve a place like that & I suspect they will draw very well this year . The soccer style roof is just great for fans all season
