When does the basketball season start. :)
This fall will the REAL challenge.

How in the world can you decide which of these games to watch?
- Illini football on their way to the playoffs
- Illini hoops on their way to their first NC
- Cubs vs Sox in the World Series
- Bears amazing everyone on their way to 17-0 and a Super Bowl win

Gotta get that multi-screen thing going!
Exciting times indeed.

I think you Cubbie fans need a primal scream or two.
Keep the faith.
The days of primal screaming are over because they win consistently, but it really is more of an annoyance. They get to 20 over, 21 over.....then inexcusably throw games away. If they just finish off the games that were all but won, these games vs Milwaukee would have been absolutely enormous. Now, it's a matter of trying to secure a home playoff series. There's worse things in the world than closing in on 90 wins, but it just felt like they weathered the storm of injuries, we're getting guys back, had depth and we're ready to take off. They best the Sox 2 of 3, they go into Seattle and drill them in the first game, then the bullpen collapses for four games.

Its an NL where 4 or 5 teams can make a legit case for getting to the WS, so the margin for error is zero. If the Cubs were in the AL, they'd be considering resting some arms right now.

Is Colin Rea hurt? Dead? Dismembered?

Why is Trent Thornton the option you go with in the 6th of a one run game?

Craig Counsell was a better manager when he could just pitch Josh Hader four days a week.
He's pitching in the 9th inning of a 17-5 game.
Wasn't good enough to pitch in the 6th yesterday.
After 17 what's the over/under on Cubs' runs tomorrow? 2 1/2?

Exactly. Then a pundit will come out saying that it's been the best offense in the league because they averaged 9.5 runs in two games. They did the same thing last week vs Seattle.
No, a pundit might say it’s been the best offense in the majors because they’ve scored more runs than any other team. But to the point I believe you were trying to make, the consistency of the offense has not been good.

death, taxes and imanaga giving up a homer. right as I type this he gives up another to give the reds the lead back o_O
edit: now three homers through 4+. I dont think I trust him in a playoff rotation
