Must appreciate greatness while it lasts.

Not a great sign for Boynton's renewal. Aren't they trying to get Roddy Gayle back in - that could solve a lot.
The Roddy situation goes from "Would be a nice addition, but don't need him" to "Oh wait, now we need him"

Sucks, especially if he had a chance at one and done. Good news is that with college paying as well as it does, it's far from the end of a lucrative career.

Curious if anyone knows - we hear about these awful ACL injuries and guys not coming back 100% even when they've had a year off, but are there any you'd say came back to their pre-injury selves (or better)?

Bryce Hopkins looked good this past year.

No data to back it up, but a lone acl tear doesn’t seem to be detrimental long term.

I think most serious injuries run some risk of not returning to or getting better than prior to them occurring, but modern medicine and recovery makes even the sickest injury recoverable.

Im also a big believer in the mental side of injuries impacting player performance. I think it’s very human to be tentative and play a game that’s more cautious. That hurts a player (especially 20 something’s) much more than their post injury body more often than not.

It's a bad injury but there are plenty examples of guys who recovered just fine. Baron Davis tore his ACL in college and made 2 All-star appearances in a 13-year NBA career. Kyle Lowry also tore his ACL in college, and since then has made 6 AS games and just retired at the age of 39. And Zach Lavine's ACL tear 9 years ago doesn't seem to have negatively impacted his career. It's impossible to know what would have happened if he never had the injury, but the best years of his NBA career came after the injury.

The ACL injury recovery journey is drastically different from the one I took in the early ā€˜80’s. I suffered a partial tear of my L ACL in April of 1982, and tore it completely in June that same year. After an 18 month rehab (yes, I took advantage of the rehab Center), I went from a 38ā€ vertical to a 22ā€ vertical. Today, rehab is less than a year, and the athlete’s recovery is closer to 90-100% than the roughly 60% I enjoyed. Items a serious athletic injury.
