Except for Cleveland, the Sox now have at least a nine game lead in the loss column over everyone else in the division.

In those famous Sox words... ‘Don’t Stop Now, Boys!’

And flying a bit under the radar is the fact that Sox are finally getting something out of that contract they had given Andrew Benintendi years ago. He is providing some real value to the Sox this season. While all eyes are on The Kids... this veteran is stepping up in this fine season.

This is a great thing. With no ‘power teams’ left in their path, the Sox will make or break this season all on their own. They have the future in their own hands to make this an even more enjoyable season... or if the worst happens, let it slip away (like the horrible ending to the 1967 Season).

But either way – They will earn and determine this all on their own.

Having your destiny in your own hands is a wonderful thing. It’s time for these 2026 Sox to use it right.

I actually listened to the last couple innings of the game ON THE RADIO. Can't remember the last time I listened to baseball on the radio. Len Kasper and Darrin Jackson with the call.

still kinda scratching my head why he left Cubs TV broadcast for Sox radio . he’s a good one

Sure, that's the NBA but it's still a major sports franchise in a major city. The value of franchises in all sports is getting to unbelievable heights. That is going to limit the options for future ownership groups to buy franchises. Will the current Sox owner hold out for even more money than he might have sold before? The above is my post of August 13. Here is the latest turn of events...

The Los Angeles/Anaheim Angels were just sold to Stan Kroenke (of Walmart money) for $4 billion - a new surprise high level of sale price.

This is not likely to help settle the White Sox future. It’s likely the current Sox owner is going to want even more now to sell the Sox – or he may even continue his own mostly-failed ownership of the team longer.

Of course it’s also possible he could surprise and sell anyway due to his advanced age. But either way, the huge prices ball clubs are selling for these days just means new ownership groups either have to find more money of their own to buy with... or add more new money partners to make a sale possible.

This sale is good news for the Angels franchise... but at this point not so great news for the Sox.
