This needs to be a really big time practice game for our defense to figure out how to be physical and tackle. They just seem scared to get on the ground and go low on guys. Can't play defense scared of contact.

My checklist moving forward:

Beat SIU
Beat Purdue
Beat Michigan State

After that we figure out what we are for the rest of the season.
Only one likely.

Given our first two performances, I asked AI to predict our remaining games...here's what it gave me..

Gives us a prediction of 3 more wins...Ouch...

SIU, shouldn't be a problem.

After that, it's a crapshoot. It's one thing to have a really good defense and struggle on offense. You can get down, dirty and nasty and win games. The opposite is most definitely not true. If you have a defense that is completely incapable of providing resistance in any facet of the game, every game, regardless of Big Ten opponent is 50/50, while games vs OSU and OSU is 0%. If that's the defense, keeping within 30 would be a moral victory and a miracle.

Looking at things from the MSU and Purdue perspective, they are looking at us as a win on their schedule.

Edit: Shifting to the Bears, they had the same type of defense last year, BUT they created an insane amount of turnovers to balance it out. That's the only way to overcome how brutal our interior D-Line in as well as our pass rush.

Both purdue and msu will beat us. We are looking at 3-9 type of season. One with us likely giving up near 35 pts per game by seasons end.

Good Lord, the sky is not falling okay?
I agree with you that after only two games, the sky isn't falling, but the weather outlook for a nice sunny day, just two weeks ago, has definition changed to more clouds and a chance for heavy thunderstorms if the atmosphere doesn't change paths.

I suspect we drub SIU, and I’m not ready to give up on the season yet.

I wonder if any of those NFL guys who were on LSU’s roster want to come make some money. I’d imagine they’re pretty hard up for cash right now. 🤔
