We are getting nothing out of our DL and LB groups. Just a miss by our staff on all accounts. I’m not sure we have a single B10 replacement level player in our front 7. Gives us very little options thereI desperately want to feel differently, but this is the most pessimistic I’ve felt about a season in Week Three since the Lovie years … and that’s wild considering how great I feel about our offense.![]()
Its not the meager budget at play here we spent all the big money on our cb and safety with literally little if any money on our defensive line and linebackers thats the recipe most us fans knew before the season started was going to be a horrible defense and a step back seasonThis defense is just laughably bad. Who knew putting it together on a meager budget would result in this?

Yes, and we were right there to win the game, and were the better team. That was the thought last week.
That is absolutely not true. The defense has to at least be somewhat competent. What we're seeing now is flat out awful. There are no more Southern Illinois or UABs on the schedule. This offense is not going to put up 35 points week after week. Heck, how many points did we put up in the 2nd half versus Duke?Offense has had 1 drive and 1 TD.
A really good offense is all you need to win lots of games.
It’s not what, it’s how. It’s one touchdown chill out guys.
Could still go terribly, but it’s not burning down yet
Spy Bailey on him would be my choiceAre we gonna let the best athlete on SIU roster run wild the whole game? I'm guessing we don't have anyone quick enough to stop him. Wondering what the defensive game plan was?
Outstanding block by Clement. Well designed run and Laughery has speed for daysLaughery so fast.
Great block by Clement.
My point is if we have a better defense it doesn't come down to those things and we win easily.Yes, and we were right there to win the game and were the better team.
The problem was timeout management, throwing away points on 4th down, and special teams. Not the defense or the offense.
