There's our guy.
The Bears dominated the first 50 minutes of this game in a way that's rare in the NFL. And yet!

It could have been, but the thing that I have loved about Ben Johnson from the start, and which has been golden for Caleb Williams' development is that he fully understands that playing not to lose with your quarterback is suicide.Three interceptions called back because of defense penalties. This could have been a very different game but for Jets stupid mistakes.
One of them was a free play after the Jets jumped offsides, so it was a 50/50 ball.Three interceptions called back because of defense penalties. This could have been a very different game but for Jets stupid mistakes.
Monangai had more carries than the Jets had plays. Bears had 81 plays to 32 for the Jets. 34 first downs to 7 for the Jets. Bears outgained them by 335 yards. The box score indicated like a 50-7 type of game. Bears did leave points on the field but had total control of the game. I’m very interested to see how they do in Green Bay. Lambau Field has been a house of horrors for 35 years.Bears had 34 first downs in today's game. The Jets offense ran 34 plays total.
I've always wondered why the Bears never retired Gene Ronzani's number.Bagent passes Gene Ronzani to move into 44th all time in career passing yards for the Bears.
Two were "go for it" plays, with the Jets having already committed a penalty. True He doesn't have Williams' arm, but he was pretty accurate. They will continue to be a running team, with clever passing to keep the other team off-balance. Defense is playing much better and compliments the offense.Three interceptions called back because of defense penalties. This could have been a very different game but for Jets stupid mistakes.
I've thought for a while Monangai is the best option long term. Yesterday may have been the day that becomes official. Swift is good especially on passing downs as he is more mobile but I really like the way Monangai attacks the holes. Really good in short yardage. And if Swift is developing fumbleitis his role should diminish.Appears that Swift has been benched since that fumble.
THIS. He's a fine back, but fumbling on the goal line vs Minnesota lost a game and his fumble yesterday with that game, at that point, hanging very much in the balance is just unacceptable. It's not like the ball was perfectly punched out or ripped away.....he was just loose with it. It takes a lot to get benched mid game in the NFL, but that did it. I thought that maybe it was his knee acting up, but when they brought Johnson in as the backup..... message sent. We'll find out how it was received.I've thought for a while Monangai is the best option long term. Yesterday may have been the day that becomes official. As Jimmy Johnson once said after he cut Curvin Richards (his 3rd string RB) entering the playoffs. "I can't play a guy I can't trust".
I like it also. If this season is gonna go where we hope it does & it appepars at least feasible that it could, we can't have guys needlessly laying the ball on the ground in crucial spots. Thats how you lose games in the NFL.THIS. What I like about Ben is that he doesn't give AF about new, guaranteed contacts. Earn your money.

Eberflus was genuinely a Beckman-grade overmatched idiot for me.
Eberflus, Beckman and Tim Floyd are three of the heads on Mount Rushmore of terrible coaches of my teams in my lifetime, not sure who the fourth would be.
The Cubs have had some bad managers but it doesn't feel like a baseball manager can cause that degree of harm. I wasn't really following the Hawks much when the Alpo Suhonen thing happened. Tepper was before my time.

Hard disagree.IMO - Tepper isn't in the conversation. He had some amazing defenses and went to multiple bowl games.
I've contended for 30 plus years that Tepper as head coach was among the worst D1 power conference head coaches in the modern era. The 1994 season is exhibit A. But when you look in totality at what he inherited (a solid top 25 or better program) vs what he left behind (a dumpster fire that didn't win a game in 1997 & one of the worst D1 power conference teams of all time) it speaks to how AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL he was as a head coach. A great human being of that I have no doubt but just a disaster as a head coach.Hard disagree.
Tepper the DC is not in the conversation.
Tepper the HC is very much in the conversation. 1994 was the biggest wasted season in Illinois football history.
