Week 7 Games

think Michigan keeps Underwood at 3.5 million per year next year ?

he’s way overrated & overpaid

The internet was saying he had a 4 year 8 figure deal, so I'm not sure how much he would fetch and whether Michigan set up his contract to get the difference. That said, it solves multiple problems for all sides if he leaves.
Fresh start somewhere else, and he maybe performs better having learned from mistakes at UM
The team that takes a chance on him is likely to pay decent $ based on potential
He becomes the fall guy for the program's poor season
Between that and the rumor mill, I'd bet he's gone.

I thought I recall it being 4 years $10M.

If this is true, how completely classless. You’re still in the middle of your season and you get benched for part of one game and your response is to go team shopping? If I were the coach, I would not even let him dress the rest of the season, let alone play.
It's his agent. His agent wouldn't be doing his job if he wasn't working in the best interest of his client.

I'll also guess the Michigan coaches have no problem with this, they want to dump him and should want to dump him.

Agree. Ore lost both their coordinators this past off-season and promoted two guys on staff who have never held those jobs before. I think that has as much do with it as the QB situation, if not more.
Heck yeah. Going from coordinators operating at the head coach level to newbies is a massive change. No different going from a C-level exec who is capable of running a company to someone just promoted to that level. Now maybe you can question lannings judgement in going with newbies vs hiring someone proven. They had the money to do that.

NIL and the portal has ruined the game. There is no parity anymore.

No way an agent puts this out there because that is publicly acknowledging other schools are tampering
I would love some tampering penalties on Miznoz, especially with our games against them coming up. However, does tampering even exist anymore? It seems like everyone is tampering in the new wild west of college sports.

i disagree. Underwood was a willing participant in every aspect of his recruitment, the hype it generated and the expectations that followed. This whole "blame the institution, not the individual" for life decisions and outcomes is wearing thin on me.
When players couldn't transfer without sitting, got paid no real money, and had no real power, you could feel for his situation.

He got paid probably at least $5M and will get another $5M as a reclamation project for some other coach. Removing amateur status also removes that last shield of empathy from the fan base. You're no longer just a poor kid on a scholarship in your dorm room eating ramen like everyone else.
