I’m assuming Dante Moore is back for this game after watching the last 2 weeks of Oregon QB’ing

I’m looking at this Oregon game. Definitely beatable. Old Memorial? Bret and Lunney doing their best. Upset alert.
The more Oregon plays, the worse they look. If Illinois is ever going to beat them, this would be the year. Illinois coming off a bye, Oregon having to travel. The only thing better would have been an 11AM start.

We need to drum up the "lets knock them out of the CFP" mentality as a motivator. Gotta get up for this game!

Some chatter on X re several Oregon players involved in some street racing and dui last night. Literally just saw it. Stay tuned?
Looks like they have a starting reciever in trouble. He did not play against Nebraska after being "Questionable".

The question in my mind ( and it is a big one) is: Can Illinois get enough dehensive stops in this game to hang in there with Oregon?
That is important for sure. Oregon looks off offensively, but our defense has not shown capable of stopping teams. No clue about how personnel issues will impact them, given the rumors swirling around.

The key to me is if the offense can control the ball effectively. The only chance, IMO, is if the Illini are able to grind the game out and limit possessions. Oregon has a significantly better defense than MSU, so I think the gameplan will have to change to protect Clayton.

I personally do not like the matchup, so I think the current spread is completely appropriate. However, crazier things have happened. Hopefully the bye week helps the Illini and makes this game super competitive.

It’ll be interesting to see how many Oregon players are suspended this week. I heard 6 got arrested this weekend

Kind of off topic but how are Clayton’s legs? Obviously Boyd is more of a threat on the ground but compared to houser does Clayton at least have that level of mobility?
