uconn smashed Purdue in their exhibition. I didn't watch but it was close to 30 point lead late in second half. guess they didn't want painter to celebrate his extension too much

Saw 20 minutes. It was men vs boys. We better be ready for that team. They are big in a way we aren't. Really physical, the two freshman have crazy positional size. The Landrew kid is like Stokes-light. Their backup 5 that they picked off from Stanford played really well, big euro kid, solid. They were elite defensively. Their on-ball, switches and rotations were really good, were flying all over the place. They didn't shoot it great, believe it was Mullins first game back. It's a different brand of basketball than we play. Theirs is high intensity, highly physical with elite defense and on ball actions. They are deep too.

we really really really need to make some shots against them this time. there cutting will be a tough cover and may be hard for the freshman to pick up. but our veterans now have 2 games against that movement so hopefully they learned. but the shots must fall.... otherwise same result.

Hurley is so very unlikeable but don't be surprised if he wins another one this year.

I wonder how much of our scrapping one of the most efficient offenses of all time (albeit with a lottery PG we no longer have)in favor of this new “no plays” offense is driven by our inability to get past UConn and some snide comments by Hurley and staff after that we weren’t that hard to prep for.

I just hope we didn’t let Hurley get into our heads too much based on a game that came down to the last minute where we had multiple balls spin out and they both banked in a 3 and got a crazy lucky bounce in 3.

I know it’s early (season hasn’t even started yet!) and we are missing our best player but as others have noted the pro teams that have tried this offense have had mixed results at best, and it seems like their defense has struggled, likely to fatigue from running such a frenetically paced offense. And our early returns have been similar.

TL;DR: I hope Hurley isn’t in our head too much.

Best coach in the game paired with recruiting rivaling Duke. They already have two Top 10 kids locked down for 2027.

We'll see. They are better than paper suggests, that I could tell you. Hurley has a tendency to find guys that aren't top 5 HS kids that work in his system and
I don't know how the Landrew kid wasn't a higher recruit, had never heard of him. He's a truck. Their other freshman, County, is a big, athletic guard that defends his face off. Their 5 reminds me of a bigger Julius Peppers.

They beat msu by six who lost to marquette. Purdue shot 2 for 25 from three. They are not unbeatable.

No one's unbeatable in CBB.

Last year's Michigan team may go down as having one of the best college front courts of all time and they lost three games.

Mirk should be back. We're going to rock them.

I was watching clips of Mirk's 3 blocks in the UConn Final Four game. He blocked Mullins, Karaban, and Tarris Reed.

If that screw holds and those bones fuse/heal... look out. Peaking at the right time matters a lot. See Florida 2025. We may fly under the radar in 2026 with some losses without Mirk. But once he gets rolling, I legit think we're going to see a 20-10-4 Mirk in the B1G. Only reason he doesn't get those counting stats is because the team is so balanced. Similar energy to Yaxel winning B1G and National Player of the Year scoring 16ppg.
