Even with OO, we are not known in developing traditional bigs. Morez didn't help our case. I really hope we can boost Big Z's stock to a late 1st rounder. I think he plays in NBA if he proves he can shoot.
He needs to improve his rebounding too. Big time! He is a great rim presence but he needs to shoot like he did most of his career tossing out last year and freaking rebound! Him and Tomi both. Outside of Mirk our best rebounder shouldnt be a guard.

I think it has something to do with our scheme, too (not entirely). When Z or Tomi shoot the three, they are supposed to go back defend. Also, our threes can generate long rebounds, which might go to guards more easily.

His defensive rebound rate was technically the best on last year’s team (21.6)

That’s much harder to accomplish when Quentin Coleman’s on your team.

Does it matter who rebounds as long as we’re one of the top rebounding teams in the country? Doesn’t matter who makes shots at the rim/layups as long as we continue to be among the most efficient offenses in college basketball?

This is all well and good until you run into Duke / Florida / Zona / UConn esque enforcer 5-man who throttles you on OReb putbacks. You want to see your 7 footers grab some 2-handed rebounds with authority. Tomi used to in past years. I hope exhibition was just them on half speed.

6’5 freshmen at Evanston High school and also playing for Meanstreet.
Is he the best incoming freshman in the high school of Illinois? Also btw where does Robert Smith Jr (son of former Simeon coach) rank among incoming freshmen in the state of Illinois?

Watching the frontlines at Duke (Ngongba, JBB), UConn (Hines), Florida (Condon) and Arizona (Krivas) plus seeing all the 2027 5-stars off the board (or not on our radar)... I share your concerns.

I love Tomi's 3-ball ability and Z's occasional jump out the gym blocks. But we need a low post force.
Tomi needs to be on the block more often IMO

You sure he doesn’t play at Bolingbrook
It doesn’t matter to me one way or the other which school he’s actually attending cause am just passing on the information that I came across.
