I love this shirt and the Navy on Gray look.

Too bad it isn't part of our color palette either. Single color on gray is supposed to be orange. (I think orange on gray is a bad decision... make it Navy all the time on gray.)

I'll stop harping on this, but I really hate creating standards and breaking them on day 0. If you are going to be loose with your wordmarks and colors, everyone else will think it is ok to dilute the image.

This is just my opinion, but I'm fine with these variations we're seeing. As long as the right shades of color are being used I'm all for it. I definitely see where you're coming from though, it's frustrating that we can already see some discrepancies

Isn't that the very bottom right corner combination or close?

Could be. The bottom rows are defined as Primary Mark Tonal, which I interpret as a tonal overlay to the background color. On all background colors, it looks to be a gray translucent overlay, allowing some of the background color to bleed through.

The bottom right, therefore, looks like gray and darker gray. That shirt looks blue on gray.

Again, I love that look and am picking on principle of standards.

Dear NIKE

Please please please put that shield logo on some football gloves!! Put the two columns together to create THE SHIELD!!

In the presentation and on the Atheletic Dept. website they say the block I represents Illinois as a crossroads of the country. How does it do this?

A T or X maybe, but not an I.

Yeah, me too. As long as colors and mark shapes are consistent, I'll be able to sleep.

Baseball looks terrible, so boring. That is really the only one I don't care for

Yeah, the old baseball unis are better, in my opinion. But hey, we (Illinois) asked for it!

Like the comment from JFG that there is maybe more than one more thing in their backpockets.

Yep sounds like more than one uni still to come. We all know the grey is coming, cant wait to see the other one, guarantee it is fighting illini related. I have a feeling we will all love that one, just a gut feeling.

The side panel. ..even if we all know or think it's feathers, the average fan will think it's a lighting bolt or just a overall attempt to add some crazy on the side of the uniforms. To big an borderline annoying. Jmho

Let 'em. We don't need to care what a casual fan 600 miles from here thinks. There will be no articles written on them for being ugly (thanks, Addidas!), and if a prospective athlete visits and learns what they represent, I think that'd be a cool way to let him in on the heritage.

They look a bit big, but at game-speed, they should be great.

I am a really big fan of the football uniforms, and I like the basketball ones a lot too. Only minor thing is that Fightin Illini would have been better but that is totally nitpicking on my end.

Glad to see them come out looking so sharp.

Which I surely consider a good thing, would you agree? I'd much rather have everyone generally be happy and be nitpicking, as opposed to complaining about the entirety of what we saw today.

Right, that was the point. We are digging for little things, which means overall success! :thumb:
