Yup. I think the staff has the opinion Vaaks could handle a larger workload, but it will be his first year being asked to be the primary ball handler. It was largely others who were bringing the ball up for Providence

Not sure why this needs spelled out, but Coleman is going to be relied upon to be one the lead ball handlers if not PG from the jump, whereas McCoy will be off the ball or a secondary creator. Completely different scenarios. I think Coleman should be completely fine as the 4th or 5th option on...

I think his point, or at least my read, is that it was Illinois players that were against the Blackwell add in the end. Only thing that makes sense in my head, especially given that the other options on his list will have similar situations. Plus explains why we aren’t recruiting anyone else

You could tell a guy like Jalen Cox that he will play a minimum of 10 mpg and more if you beat out Coleman or Morillo… I think you could definitely find a player who would take that offer. Especially one who strikes out on the big market deals/roles like Cox has

100%. Should be able to offer a veteran guard 15 minutes a night at the very least, could be more if the freshman struggle or someone gets hurt. Should be a fairly attractive role on a title contender

Don’t let the insiders tell you different, calls were made. You don’t go from all in to pay a top transfer guard to suddenly being happy with freshmen… Someone wasn’t happy

I agree with that, but you feel a lot more comfortable with another veteran guard who can handle it and create some. And I’m in total agreement on Cox, at the very least he’d be a good off the bench guard. An injury to either Vaaks or Coleman and we’re in trouble
