Not really. Most sports in LA, aside from the Lakers and USC football and maybe the Dodgers when they are good, don't have great attendance. There is so much to do in LA besides sports. That's why its baffling that San Diego moved there. Especially after the Rams moved back.

Yeah I try not to think of that. I used to like going to CBL games before he goat farged it.

The Cleveland management and owner are only slightly worse than Dan Snyder and company.

Forgive me if someone has addressed this[I missed about 1.5 days and 75 pages of this thread], but is Fred Hoiberg still a possible candidate or is there some solid reason he wouldn't be considered or consider the job?

I wouldn't say he was slimy, just that he recruited players that didn't have good off the court habits and he didn't discipline them well enough. Pierce was just the most egregious example. The only other example I could find readily was a circa 2002/2003 Quad City Times article about a Iowa...

Probably for a couple of reasons: 1. There's a lot of tradition that gets inculcated into the freshman. The history, Thomas Jefferson saying that learning never stops so instead of being called freshman, sophomores, juniors and seniors, UVA students are 1st through 4 Years. The main section of...

Alford really wasn't been that impressive at Iowa. Record at Iowa: Overall 152–106 (.589) Big Ten 61–67 (.477) Add to that he made some poor choices in terms of recruits while at and subsequently had discipline problems with said players. So yeah, IU can have him. Looking at his short run at...

I definitely feel your pain. I had to "watch" Game 7 of the Cubs WS on the web/simulcast on my phone while watching over my newborn daughter. Her Momma was stuck at work.

I was surprised when Kruger went to Atlanta. Kruger took over a very mediocre if not bad Hawks team. So it wasn't surprising when the team never did anything during his tenure there. Same sort of story with Calipari at the Nets, though he did have one good year. But they traded Sam Cassell the...

I'm sure he was probably torn, but at least at that time and definitely before, there was very low turnover at storied programs like Kansas and UNC. So I'm sure he mullled it over and realized that the Kansas job was the best offer he was going to get for a while. I can't blame him for leaving...

Lets face it the number of people who faked a resume claiming to be UK grads is far lower than Ivy League or Public Ivies.

Negatory. Bill Self was offered a job at a storied, elite program. Only a fool or someone who is completely satisfied with their situation and doesn't want the pressure that a program like that has would turn it down(e.g. Mark Few at Gonzaga).

Virginia Tech is even less a desirable location than Illinois. Geographically, its isolated from any other big town/area. Roanoke VA(about 100K population) and Johnson City, TN being the closest "big cities". And it has very few minorities outside of the university. And at least the last time I...
