The worst no call by the refs in the MSU game was when Isiah was mugged before a critical throw. Way worse PI than anything called on Illinois this year. I don’t even know what the rule is anymore. No touching? No impeding without going for the ball? Tackling OK?… look at that IW no call against...
I’m very interested to see how much energy he wastes on complaining to the refs vs getting physical within the appropriate boundaries. From the minimal Kansas scrimmage footage it looks like he has a way to go (2 complaints in that small snippet)… I hope it at least doesn’t affect his game...
Belo seemed to have no problem getting a shot up on the rim, which was a talent of Deron, but not Dee. Really great to have at the end of shot clocks and crash the boards. If he actually starts making a majority of them, combined with his ability to make very special passes, he’ll be everything...
Where do his parents and siblings live? IL or AZ? Or do they want to move to AZ? And then move again to his NBA city?
Ayo and his parents got it just right. Stay home.
UCF. I was at that game, one we thought we’d win the whole time and then Trent missed two FTs and we couldn’t stop their PG at all. I remember being shocked when Kofi picked us.
Minny was perhaps the first B1G game where we looked physically superior much. IMO, two players in made a huge difference: Randolph on defense, and Pearl on offense. Carney has been a force and Perry competitive on D, and Kramer and Lowe solid on O. Palko looking better at G than T. Even as we...
The play action out patterns had zero chance. The bubble screen to IW, same. OTOH, IW in jet sweep action, Brown off tackle, and bombs to Spann would have put more pressure on them IMO.
And now Brad, Tim Anderson, Alexander get the chance to show their chops at player development for the NBA. Taking two undrafted players- Ayo and Kofi- to the first round in two years would be a major accomplishment that few schools get the chance to do.
Question I haven’t heard answered: is...
I hope it comes down to NIL dollars and we find alums to pay Kofi $$$. Reward for choosing us, for working hard, for coming back… and a sign that the Illini can compete at the highest levels.
Then work on Kofi’s jumper, and on crashing the boards. Let him miss three 3’s a game, he can make up...
IW can be the change of pace player top teams have- run, throw, come from all over the field and cause havoc. If he’s great and the next Heisman, he’ll play QB. If he’s not, someone else will get a shot. We’ll never be a good team until guys like him are ready to go out and compete for playing time.
