The Cardinals were founded on the South side of Chicago (The Racine Street Cardinals) and charter members of the NFL.. Old timers like myself saw them play in Chicago when they had the best team in the NFL, when they were champions in 1947 (with the dream backfield of Chrisman, Trippi, Angsman...

Is there any news on Toni Bilic who joined the team in January but has not played. Is he an option for next season or still work in progress???

This video shows what is probably the longest run McCray ever had. He went to Georgia (to take the "bag") but wound up well down the running back chart and averaged only 2.7 yards per carry. His draft stock dropped a lot. Do you think he regrets not staying at Illinois???

It seems like most responders thinks Illinois needs more depth at guard. They may be overlooking the fact that our two (USA) freshman are both pretty highly regarded guards and it it is reasonable to expect that one or both will be able to provide quality minutes (and may even surprise the...

Maryland just beat Michigan will likely be a 2 seed. Then Illinois, if it beats Purdue, will be a 7 seed and play Maryland if they win their first BIG tournament game. If Illinois loses to Purdue, they will face MSU. A real rough road to the semis!!!

Whoops forgot to add USC and Iowa as the BIG now has 18 teams.

The Big-Ten has 11 teams receiving votes. Only Rutgers, Northwestern, Washington, Nebraska and Minnesota received no votes. Plenty of competition to move up the ladder.

The good news is that Lawyers generally do not encourage individuals to make frivolous law suits because they do not want to waste their time (unless they have a deep pocket client to pay their fees) or they expect a "payday" when the favorable results are obtained. I can only assume that...

In 1957 my first home game as a Freshman was against Colgate and we beat the badly like 40-0 and I believe Ray Nitchke scored three touchdowns. Even though we had Tom Haller at quarterback and Bobby Michell in the backfield we weren't very good and had a losing season. It wasn't until after I...

A change of subject! Although France just lost to Spain in the under 19 final FIBA (USA finished 4th), Perrin had 14 points and 19 rebounds and really dominated the glass before fouling out. Could have used his inside muscle if he had stayed at Illinois!!

Only the top 8 teams in stroke play qualify for the match play playoffs starting on Tuesday. Tomorrow, the individual players championship is determined, and the top finishers will get direct entry to the PGA tour.

Looks like Paul Mulcahy of Rutgers and Malachai Smith (from Belleville, Illinois) of Gonzaga May still be available to recruit for point guard if they step away from the NBA draft.

The winner of the Maryland vs Northwestern game will likely be at 13-7 and be the number 2 seed. If Michigan can beat Indiana (and the Hoosiers lose to Purdue) Indiana drops to 11-9. If Indiana and Illinois beat Michigan, Michigan falls to 11-9. However in this case, since Illinois lost...

At an Illinois Alumni party watching the game, Illinois had a time out with 27 seconds down two. I asked a number of our fans, do you go for the early 2 (which gives Indiana the chance to win the game knowing that if you get two we are only tied and Indiana has the last possession? (Epps was...

On the NBA mock draft "Podz" is listed as the 40th pick ahead both Coleman and Shannon. He really has had a breakout year at Santa Clara and is apparently shooting 50% from the 3 in conference games.
