So just to change the subject a bit to a more positive topic, a couple of questions for our insiders? How hard is Lincoln Williams to screen and will he play more than 15 minutes against UConn?

Jake is a senior this year, no?

I think this years team has as high a ceiling as last year’s team, maybe higher. For our returning core: Sounds like Mirk has taken a leap which isn’t uncommon for a 19-20 year old. I forget which announcer said it last year but he said Mirk was like a poor man’s Cam Boozer and I think that...

    Nice game from Gus.

Agree it’s very silly. The question that should be asked is do we have a replacement for Keaton? That is, a lead guard who can shoot, play in ball screens and process and make the right play? We do. His name is Stefan Vaaks. Will he play that role to the level Keaton did? Still very much...

Is it just me or is Kylan better than Kristian Anderson? Just looks more polished and better feel and vision. Certainly doesn’t look like a first round pick vs a 2 way guy. And Kylan is only a year older.

Yes. Houston is very successful because 99% of college basketball teams don’t have 5 guys on the floor with the capability to process and pass and burn the blitz. We do. Similar to the Iowa State game in 2024. We knew they were going to trap Marcus down low, who was able to pass out of it...

Thanks so much for the nuggets. For #5, I hope Andrej realizes excelling in the last sentence to that update, along with more consistent 3 pt shot, is his ticket to the league rather than scoring a bunch of points on low efficiency. Probably just off season over optimism, in that we did lose a...

I wish Morez had stayed but I’m fine that he left. Just the nature of the game these days and we would up pivoting nicely with Mirk. And speaking of nature of the game, I will admit I don’t hold a ton of animosity towards Dusty for poaching our guy. Literally hundreds of guys enter the portal...

The thing I like most about Williams is he is a piece we don’t have and haven’t had the last couple of years, namely a long rangy athletic wing. If he can learn how to play team defense and turn into a reliable 3 pt shooter he could be very valuable. Sencire Harris flipped at least 2-3 games...

So I was already bullish on our chances next year and obviously I am even more so after Coleman’s FIBA performance. Obviously we need to see how the pieces fit/gel, but at least on paper Coleman looks to be a great complement to Vaaks. Vaaks looks like he needs the ball in his hands to be...

Richmond went pro because he didn’t have a choice. He wasn’t welcome back for his sophomore season.

It’s crazy he’s getting these rebounding stats when he’s built more like a Christie than, say a Jordan Goodwin or RaVonte Rice. Huge difference maker even when the ball isn’t going in. Can’t wait to see what he looks like after Fletch puts 15-20 pounds of good weight on him.

I’m still surprised there wasn’t enough draft interest in Momcovic to keep him in. Shooting feels like the most coveted trait NBA teams are looking for these days, and he was the best shooter last year and also has good size at 6’8.

Agree. Much easier to tell a kid “whoa” than to tell a kid “go!” And who knows, defensively Brad and Cam may live with a little more gambling on defense next year if it leads to more turnovers/runouts. One way we can counteract our likely dropoff in half court offensive efficiency. And...
