Not sure. Seems most of the Trinity kids (exception: Isaiah) were fairly overrated/overhyped. Cannon also had some Semrau-like trajectory across his HS time, and seems he wasn't good enough to get much tick at all at UL. I'm hoping the portal holds better options
Lovie gave up on recruiting by then, but I am guessing BB couldn't offer until recently due to taking Coach Hawthorne on staff. Would love to see us make some grounds to rebuilding that ESL pipeline (Dana, James, Hawthorne, Green, etc.)
While true, Wisconsin doesn't have the fertile recruiting radius that UI does. Not saying BB will load classes with 4*, but we located much more centrally to CHI/STL/IND. If you're a believer that directionally distance matters in recruiting (I am), then BB should have more quality at-bats...
Aside from possibly some spot minutes for Isiah, pretty much none of those guys would see the field on a decent team. The offense needs huge upgrades at QB, WR, and OL. But hey, the RBs should be pretty good
A few things here:
1) Drink is (unfortunately) a very good, energetic recruiter
2) He signaled from Day 1 that they were going to put a ton of effort into the state, and STL specifically and they've done that
3) He's got plenty of local support to help build momentum. It's why he can get Luther...
