I've been to Illini games at Maryland and Bryce Jordan/PSU. It's been about 2 or 3 years, but I don't remember too much difference. I've seen Rutgers play other schools. Their facility is smallish by B1G standards.
edit: After thinking about it for 30 seconds, I purchased my seats from Maryland...
Why not a soldier, to represent all the Illini that have served in the military. That stays in line with the Memorial Stadium theme.
And not a cartoonist soldier. Something serious, dignified and historically correct. But I would'nt call it a mascot, rather a representative image of the Illini...
I live in Northern NJ. This is the first time in forever that I've missed an Illini game when the game was within a 4-hour drive, i.e., Maryland, Penn State.
I just don't feel like expended that much energy to watch the offensive and defensive schemes being run by this team. Very sad.
A few more of these, and I would not object to doing something radical, like throwing in the towel, and dimissing the staff, or at least some of them. Bring in someone to coach the rest of the season. Hell, Deebeing inexperienced couldn't do worse.
