Pac 12 looking pretty strong at the top.
Tough Top 3 in the Pac-12, how will it shape them up for NCAA?

Given no changes to our current rosters and those that have been playing, I see us hanging in the top 30-40 all year long and ready for tourney play. We will be tough out, without AC, but could be a real tough out if he comes back and plays leader/distributor.

Mich.st at # 12 ????

What am I missing here ??????..........I have watched 3-4 games or parts of games of their's and i am not that impressed at all.......And , if I had a vote I surely wouldn't rank them # 12 and ahead of Ohio St.......tOSU has beaten puke and that alone seems to me to put them ahead of the IZero's............Another poll I saw this morning on my phone had zona at # 5..................

And why is nova in the top 10.........

Asking for myself.............................

#ratings - good for marketing future matchups. That is also the cynic in me but honestly feel like there is some truth there. :)

Being under/not rated is good bulletin board material. Hopefully this team starts playing with a chip on its shoulder to prove everyone wrong.

This is why Kenpom/Sagarin/Torvik are better windows into how a team is doing. These clowns have Arizona barely ranked above a Villanova team that is mediocre among other nonsense. Just keep winning and hope the NET looks good by the year’s end.

Anyone that watched the Arizona game knows we have a top 25 squad.

I’m not surprised we aren’t in. And I don’t mind to be honest. We have a great start to big ten slate ahead in January so if we keep stacking wins before Michigan and Purdue come to town, a 13-3, 5-0 in conference Illinois will be pretty hard to leave out from top 25 conversation.

Looks good to me:

3. Purdue 1,319
12. Michigan State 707,
15. Ohio State 656,
Wisconsin 156,
Illinois 31,
Michigan 8,
Minnesota 3

Next 2/3 weeks prep for B10 Season (Phase IIA)
Then a few weeks prep for B10 Tourney (Phase IIB)
Then 3 days prep for MM (Phase III)

It's about right. 8 seed, 31st in the AP, 32 in NET. Marquette and Cincinnati hanging around our necks a little.

Florida nowhere to be found. Dont lose to SWAC teams, kids.
In theory, #32 in NET should play #1 in NET the first weekend of the Big Dance. As of today, that would be us against Arizona.

Well, based on what we saw this weekend, I am confident we can beat Arizona, particularly if fully healthy. But I'd guess if we played them 10 times, we might win 4. Of course, things change over the course of the season, so we will see.

Things can change a lot faster than that if even half of the hacks at Kofi get called as fouls and he makes his FTs. There seems to be an awful large element of chance in how any given game gets called.

That's always been true, though. The key is to have a team that is better than the uncertainty that results from officials' eyesight problems.

Yea....we will improve as the season goes along and we get people healthy....question is....how much will Arizona improve ??

#24
If we want to be ranked you have to beat a rank team. We don’t have a truly impressive win yet. The only thing that bothers me in the rankings is Villanova. They have 3 loses to good teams but they are not a top 25 team based on their resume

Right. They're already pretty stinking good. Obviously not perfect, but it's hard to imagine a lot of areas to improve.
