Elon's teams were previously known as the FIghting Christians, but the name was changed to commemorate the fact that the school was rebuilt after a fire a century ago. We'll have to see if they add "no connection whatsoever to that guy" to their name. "Elon" is the Hebrew word for an oak tree.
