Excellent game going on in Ann Arbor now with a minute left. UM up by 3.

Er, never mind. Muckers pulling away by 10 with 30 secs to go.

I guess I feel somewhat better that Pickett hung 32/9/8 on Minny and 4/8 from three although I like to think we have a better defense than Minny.

Hoping Northwestern wins todays so they come into Illinois extremely due for a loss. We will be fired up for that game after what happened earlier this year. Also, they would be top 20 in the country which would make the win feel even better

Agree with all of this for all the same reasons….plus of course a Northwestern win comes with the added bonus of an Iowa loss.

I think most thought the transfer's of ryan young and pete nance was the death knell for the mildcats , but it just shows that both of those transfers were not as good as most thought.....nance has done little with the tarholes and sqame with young for puke......

I will give chrissy some kudos for what the mildcats have done this year.....addition by subtraction proof that you never know what a player will do when they enter the portal............boo and audige has been very good and their many years of experience is finally paying off.....the games I've watched seems like boo is NOT taking as many ill-advised 3's and audige is in competition with mcconnell for B$G DPOTY......just my humble opinion , and I hope we can get revenge for the loss on the road to them.......

I'm not surprised that Ryan Young's departure has not hurt them, he was a stiff and I'm shocked Duke was interested. I did think Nance being gone would kill them though. He was great for them and they still don't have anyone with his skill set. Their guards play with a ton of confidence

TV announcer just said in the pu-osu game that larry sh**head is one of the best refs in all college BB.....he should be immediately banned from any announcing of college BB games for life ...............seriously ..........I really really really am serious........

If Purdue can just figure out how to turn the ball over more in the 2nd half, they might be primed for the type of collapse that will make the next few games *very* interesting. Too bad OSU doesn't have an answer for Edey...

Don't think that any team has an answer for Edey. The only real answer is foul trouble.
I thought NW finally found one, and his name is Boo Buie...

Anyway, watching this game, I'm reminded of how much worse things could be for us. I actually have a copy of the script, so here is what it says...

Purdue: We can't make a basket!
Ohio State: That's a shame! Here...we won't make a basket, either!!!
Purdue: How dare you! We're gonna turn the ball over...
Ohio State: Ever hear of "hot potato?" It's yours now, suckers!!!
Purdue: How does 57-39 sound? I mean, we're sure to be ranked, anyway...
Ohio State: Yes, the rankings, we remember those...

Watching the UNC-NC. State game. Player just missed a dunk, hung on the rim, and tried to swat at the ball while hanging on the rim. Pretty much identical to the play Coleman had a couple of games ago. I let you guess whether or not the State player received a technical for this as Coleman did.

In the IU postgame thread saw a couple people predict a loss at OSU in a couple weeks. That team is BROKEN and they look like they just want the season to be over fast as possible. That is going to be a dead arena and at this point a loss to them would be just about as unacceptable as a loss to Minnesota.

Not sure where to put this, but Antoine Davis of Detroit Mercy is only 125 points away from becoming the all-time NCAA leading scorer replacing Pete Maravich. They have 2 regular season games left and 1 to 4 Horizon League Tourney games.
That would be a major asterisk. 5 years of varsity college ball vs. 3 for Maravich (freshman didn't play varsity then), 3 point line vs. no 3 point line, 140+ college games vs. 83.

But, yes, he would have the most points. Man, 44 pts/game for Maravich with only 2 pointers.

What happened to them? I haven’t paid much attention to them, but they looked to have lots of talent (more than us if going by recruiting rankings).

They stink defensively and live on making tough 2's.

Wow Tominaga is so clever. I think he will be able to get a position in the NBA, just as Watanabe.

Lol huh? Just because they’re Asian doesn’t mean you need to compare them. Watanabe’s 6’8”, they’re entirely different players.
Yeah they are definitely entirely different players. My point was that neither of them has NBA-level talent, but they are both extremely hardworking, great at shooting 3s, and have high basketball IQ. So I can expect Tominaga will go undrafted as Watanabe, and get a 10-day contract, and work hard to get a position.
And of course I made that comparison partly because they both came from Japan lol.

Hoiberg proved his father's decision of keeping him on the pitch correct.
