As nice as it would be to beat Pearl, I have to admit I really don’t want to see Auburn in tourney (unless it is very late in tourney). Let someone else take them down. think Smith could be a matchup problem and Kessler is big enough to at least slow Kofi down a bit or get him in foul trouble. They do have two small guards though, which would help Illini.
I honestly think we'd actually stand the highest chance against auburn compared to the other t5 teams. Outside of Smith, we actually match up really really well. Smith sounds like a Hawkins job.

Florida State playing Duke close despite FS missing all 5 starters due to injury.
Shorthanded FSU is giving Duke a close game. Not sure if they will last 40 minutes
In theory it does, but in spite of his job on Harper in first Rutgers game I’m not confident in his ability to check Smith. And I think Kessler’s height could give Kofi some problems. The good news is if/when we see Auburn, it should mean Illini have won some tourney games.

Haven't watched the Zags much. Obviously they have crazy talent, but Uni of St. Clara playing them within 10 at half seems suspect.
Please stop... Santa Clara is 79th in KenPom. Oregon is 80th, Penn State is 81st, Cincinnati is 83rd, and Maryland is 86th. I know everyone hates Gonzaga, but this is not the game to pick as an example of playing a Patsy.

Kofi watched us lose to FAU on his visit here. Recruits don't usually make decisions based on the outcome of one game.

A lot of press at this game and a pretty loud game in Tucson. Hope what we heard about Boswell was valid. I never like to see another competitor for a recruit to have the last visit.
How is Oregon 10-5 in the PAC 12? They are running and competing with UA on the road
Very inconsistent. Lost to ASU (9 - 15) a couple days ago 81 to 57.
