On one hand, I think we have Rutgers' number this year and would be pretty confident against them (even though it's tough to beat a team three times in one season). On the other hand, I would love another shot against Iowa after that disaster against them earlier this season.

If we make it past the first round, looks like either Nebraska or Michigan depending on how the Neb/PSU game today goes. As much as I would love to beat Michigan in the BTT, we always seem to run into them and it never ends well for us. I think we'd have a better shot against Nebraska, although they'll be hungry for revenge. Tough matchup either way.

I absolutely don't want to play Michigan. They are as hot as any team in our conference right now and we have no shot to beat them. I do feel good about beating Rutgers again and the potential game against Nebraska following that.

What happened to Penn St.'s big man? I see he isn't playing against Nebraska today, that significantly weakens their team.

For those riding the high. First game of B1G tourney will be Rutgers or Iowa. Illinois wins, they play Nebraska (if they lose today) or Michigan. Winner of that plays the remaining team of Nebraska/Michigan.

I'm fine with playing Rutgers or Iowa, I care more about whether or not we play Nebraska or Michigan in the 2nd game.

The Illini would have to win 5 games to get into the NCAA. However, if they win 4 (Make it to the finals and lose) they will have a .500 record which would qualify them for the NIT. I know many don't look kindly on the NIT but with almost everyone coming back next year it would be nice to extend the season. (If they had only won any one of the other close games it would have only required winning 2 in the BTT to qualify for the NIT.)

We don't want Rutgers for the 3rd time in a year. It is very very hard to beat the same team 3 times in one year. Need Iowa for sure.

Illinois vs Iowa or Rutgers winner gets Michigan

It doesn't matter whether we play Nebraska or Michigan first because we have to play the other if we win.

Personally, I'd rather play Michigan first because they're the better team and we'll have more energy playing them on day 2 instead of day 3.

Would rather finish the reg season 12th instead of 13th. I know it is just splitting hairs, but still. So hoping Iowa loses at home to NW.

That aside, Michigan burned Maryland the other day by 25. They are playing as good as anyone in the B1G right now. Would much rather have gotten Nebraska than Michigan for round 2(Assuming we win day 1).

This keeps getting said, but is it true? It seems just as logical that if you beat a team two out of two times, you will more than likely beat them again.

Not picking on you, TC, just wondering if there is any truth to this common saying.

I want to pay both Iowa and NW back for those OT losses. However, Iowa beat us at home, and I am from the QC's...so I want to knock Iowa out of the Tourney much more. I am glad we are going to get a chance to do it.
