Who are we rooting for? I assume MSU over Iowa today? I don't like the double-bye set-up, but getting one is probably better than not. Then, Purdue, NU/MD?, WI, RU/PSU?

Between Maryland and Northwestern, I'd prefer NU to lose as it puts them in a tie for 2nd with MD.
Need IU, and scUM to lose to push them off the line with us, and MSU to lose to push them back another slot, although that puts Iowa back up a slot so it's kind of a wash.
Penn State to beat Rutgers to put them both even at 9-9

Edit:

There's a scenario where we come out of the weekend with a 3 way tie for 2nd, a 3 way tie for 5th, and a 3 way tie 8th.
The following would need to win:
Purdue
Maryland
UIUC
Iowa
PSU
UW
Minny

1 Purdue 14-4
2 Northwestern 11-7
2 Maryland 11-7
2 Illinois 11-7
5 Indiana 10-8
5 Michigan 10-8
5 Iowa 10-8
8 Rutgers 9-9
8 Penn State 9-9
8 Wisconsin 9-9
11 Michigan State 9-8
12 Nebraska 7-11
13 Ohio State 3-15
14 Minnesota 2-15

I think I’m rooting for MSU. They get a couple more wins and could become a Q1 win for us.

Also, the more teams among the tied that we beat the better right?
This has me perplexed. I might have changed my mind and think that we want Iowa to win. IA has to play at IND (most likely a loss). MSU plays OSU (most likely a win). MSU win over IA they can end up 12-7, IA win over MSU they can end up 11-9 and MSU 11-8. This assumes they both beat NEB, which is not agiven either game. Except for Q1 win, I think we want Iowa today over MSU.

This is correct - we should be rooting for Iowa (if you can stomach that)...

Since the MSU-Minnesota game is not being played, they'll end with one less win than us if favorites hold the rest of the way.

Exciting game between rocket mort-gag and the squawks..........

msu shooting 10-12 from the arc........yep , you read that right , 10-12...........

the play by play dude sounds eerily like Joe Buck , to me.........Is there a network that Robbie Hummel doesn't work for .....lol
He seems to be everywhere.......also , a tom crean sighting at the half as an analyst for espn , still creepy as ever.....surprised he's not got a headset on walking behind the desk pulling his pants up.....seems weird to see him sitting down......

msu now 11-13 on 3 pointers at the last media timeout with msu leading 80-72.....franny is getting oh so close to blasting off big time....

our friend kelly phieffer is doing his best slam bam reffing fiasco again......lol........

tyson walker has made at least 6-7 baskets as the shot clock is down to 5 seconds or less....uncanny..........

Andy Katz on the early B$G show was talking about who would be his picks for 1st team all B$G and said kris murray has a lot of work to do to cement his spot on it and I agree 100 %.........vastly overrated .............I retracted that belief aboot TJD earlier and admitted I was wrong , but murray seems to be coasting on his brothers rep and last name and not his performance this year , stats aside on scoring average , etc.........most of the time he disappears in big games........JMHO

edit : I think Tyson walker is more deserving than murray....walker has 28 points and msu up 84-74 with around 2 minutes left.....

That tyson walker is capital-D Dangerous!! Agree about Murray. Was expecting more from him this year, but no. Appears squawks future outside shooting is in good shape with Perkins and Sandfort.

Msu is almost a lock for double bye in the tournament with their remaining schedule

That MSU win is great for us, IMO. A double bye would be nice, but the Big Ten is such a mess this year that it might not be essential. On the other hand, MSU is ranked #35 in the NET rankings, and they just won at #46 Iowa. They're somewhat likely to get two more wins, and that could give us another Quad 1 win if they get up to #30.

Trying to think about all the permutations is making my head spin, but a decent chance MSU will lose at Nebraska on Feb. 28th. Nebraska has won three straight at home (Penn St, Wisconsin, Maryland).
