Alstork final 4 is Illinois, Pitt, LSU, and South Carolina. Surprised at no Georgetown but that's good news. Guessing 2 horse race between Illinois and LSU

No insider information, but I'll go with these odds:

40% South Carolina (guessing they must indeed have an opening.....)
30% Illinois
20% LSU
10% Pittsburgh

He probably envisions himself replacing Sindarius Thornwell's 22 ppg in the now well-established Frank Martin program.

Not shocked on Alstork's build up to his decision, but the lack of Georgetown in his list is a plus for us. SC I didn't expect to be in his list, didn't think they had room, makes one scratch his head. LSU on list because of location and campus, but that team needs a lot of work. Then Pitt, if Cameron Johnson left , was it lack of Pt, or staff issues? Would look like to me , that's who MA would replace, and they would need work too.

Guess wait for the next episode tomorrow, we don't get anything for first runner up?:(

Its hilarious how much I want to argue with you, but you have had a great track record, provide great information and hardly talk in absolutes.

You get it. Please post more often

Oh no, nothing to argue here sir...just relaying what info I have heard...honestly hope its wrong, I'd love to see this kid on the Illini...even with my Michigan roots, I think the world of Mark Smith and am excited to follow this team in the BU era.....cheers

Agau is the prime player, a big , but Alstork to SC seems weird as far as a number game. They expecting someone to leave? With Minaya commit they need 2.:noidea::confused:

Some info. on Dwight Coleby who was mentioned in these pages around May 15 (if you want to go back and refresh your memory. I know I had to). According to this article:

http://thespun.com/college-hoops/dwight-coleby-transfer-destinations-kansas

"According to The Kansas City Star, top mid-major programs are the ones most after Coleby."

"One source close to the situation told The Star that the 6-foot-9 Coleby is believed to be considering mid-majors Western Kentucky, Arkansas-Little Rock, Stephen F. Austin and Louisiana Monroe."

"Stephen F. Austin site The Sawmill also lists Illinois, Mississippi State, and SMU as options for Coleby, though we can not verify that they are involved with the Kansas transfer."

Seems as if we would be a more attractive destination that those mid majors. So, maybe we aren't recruiting him? He doesn't fit?

Coleby seems a bit slower to me from video I saw. I asked some to check and see if I was wrong. He has size, good around hoop.

True. But that was before the LSU and SC visits. Hopefully it is still true but things could have changed.

Man, if I had a one year shot to get myself to the NBA, of that group South Carolina is the last place I'd choose. Frank Martin would definitely be an acquired taste and you had better be able to put defense and team ahead of your personal goals.

If he thinks he's go down there and have the green light from the second he steps on campus, I think he's getting bad advice. South Carolina is the flavor of the month because of the Final Four. That team won because they played D, not because they had NBA lottery picks or because they were a dynamic offensively.

Illinois makes sense, if his goal is to get to the next level. That's without my O & B goggles on. At Illinois, he'd be in a guard driven, high pace offense, with a lot of time and a lot of shots available...he could be a showcase player for one year. I have to believe that's what he's looking for.

To gamble that one year on mixing nicely with Frank Martin.....eeeesh.

Cash35 says ILLINOIS.

I know him to have a perfect track record (first to call Mark Smith).

Just curious, but who else did he predict correctly?

Mark Smith to Illinois was very much in doubt at many points in his recruitment, but almost all the smoke during the last week or two of his recruitment seemed to favor us. Plus, we're talking about an Edwardsville kid committing to Illinois -- that's not the most inconceivable thing.

Not diminishing the correct call, but 1 for 1 isn't really a track record.

It's been Illinois or SC, almost from the get go. Ive heard he could end up at either school and LSU would be the 3rd option, but my main guy is telling me Illinois. Louisville was never a serious threat
