2017 Basketball Transfer Thread

I don't understand the S. Carolina situation. If they are so full on scholarships without any knowledge of outgoing transfers, then why the heck are they in contention with these incoming transfers?

From what I read, coach Martin said he didn't know of any guys leaving team. In same interview, he also said he wasn't happy with a couple guys . For all it is worth, think MA wants to go to SC because of exposure , final four and all that. SC will get alot of attention next season, so maybe he thinks it will give more exposure to NBA. With us , new coach and fact we not proven, makes us a lesser option.
You can't blame him for waiting it out, but looks like SC needs 2 spots to open for him to go there. So he is waiting for that, and we waiting for him. We really can't make any moves till his decision , so, again we on hold. LSU is in mix probably because MA knows the basketball ops guy.

Kind of curious as to why you think this. We have quite a few open scholarships.

Would think we have to be careful with the 4 we have left. Give 2 one year rides to the MA/AA ,np , leaves us with 4 full rides for '18. We have alot of offers we would like to fill. Grad transfer is about all we can handle.

Perhaps Frank Martin is sending a message to those couple guys he wants out? They might be asking the same thing, " why is coach recruitng transfers when we have no open scholarships?" Maybe I ought to look around . . ."

Unlike John Groce, Frank Martin can't count

Would Kavell Bigby-Williams have one year of eligibility or two after the transfer?

2014-15 Montanta State. Failed to meet NCAA requirements. Did not enroll.
2015-16 (transfer)
2016-17 Oregon
2017-18 (transfer)
2018 would be year 5.

Sit 1, play 2, don't think we will look at him. Just a guess.

My guess is we would take him in a heartbeat with our current dearth of bigs. Especially if your right about the sit 1, play 2. Give us next year + plus an upperclassman for after Finke/Black move on.
If we actually have a connection/chance is the main question.

I think we most definitely have a shot. This is the kind of big that BU would love to have, however the real question is what other schools would we go up against?

Why is he leaving Oregon to begin with? And is the 2 years to play just a formality or is it going to require a very favorable decision by the NCAA?

On a side note. Watching any highlights on the Oregon court is brutal on the eyes! Headache inducing, I wonder what kind of feedback they've gotten on the design since they put it in.
