If it comes out that we slow played Moore in the hopes of getting Smith and we botch it will go down as a huge mistake from a new staff.....

As S&C said, I'm not even sure that's possible. Moore's re-recruitment (transfer recruitment?) lasted what, 10 days?

Good question. If it comes out that we slow played Moore in the hopes of getting Smith and we botch it will go down as a huge mistake from a new staff.....

You'd have to think that if Moore wanted to come here, only way he doesn't is if Underwood feels great about Smith.

Or at least that's what you'd hope. Always take the bird in the hand, if it's available.

The program is already in pretty awesome shape under the new coach/staff if the reason we're losing recruits to Kansas is because we're "slow playing" them.

I'm even more excited than I was 30 minutes ago. This is going great!

I did think we'd have a little bit more time with Moore. Maybe see how things play out with Smith and then target Moore aggressively.

Maybe it's just coincidence but the timing of the Moore news is interesting. A day after Smith's visit to Illinois? Maybe he heard something?

Illinois Loyalty: Well, we're falling from the top of the Sears Tower. Hey, see that street beneath us? Maybe that's one of those fluffy pillow streets!

Or maybe Kansas wanted him and most people would chose Kansas over Illinois.

This leads me to believe there might be a transfer or two coming from our end. If Louisville and South Carolina are involved the kid must have some skills. Personally, I've never seen him play

here you go. Lots of Mark Alstork hitting 3's and he don't take them from just behind the line. Says he hit 38.7% from beyond the arc. Mike LaT getting a bunch of assists too.

I like him better in the paint than shooting from the outside (a little herky-jerky from 2-range). In fact, he's playing the way I expect Mark Smith to play next season, should MS commit to the Illini.

Yep. Same exact thought after about 14 seconds of footage.

I can see it. He seems be more athletic and a better shooter though. Still a good comp and I like his inside/outside versatility. He seems to enjoy posting up since it's one of the things the highlight tape sells about him. He'd get a chance to post just about every possession with BU. After the post he'd be on the kick out end of a drive and drift corner 3 look too. He's an interesting target.
