I think a Nashville-Edmonton WCF would be really fun.

Agree that whoever wins the WSH-PIT G7 is likely coming out of the East, but Peak Capitals would be vanquishing Pittsburgh after being down 3-1 and then losing to Ottawa.

Shocked that Anaheim pulled that out in OT

Agreed but glad they did.....I cannot stand the nashville fans and all of their little choreographed chants. Plus every time one of the preds goes down they all want a penalty. Its called checking people.

There and I wish I felt better....

Since most of the posters in this thread appear to be Blackhawks or blues fans, and with both teams now out, I thought I'd pose two questions:

Who do you think will winthe Stanley Cup?

Who are you rooting for to win the Cup?

I am thinking Pittsburgh repeats if they hold off Washington. Talent, experience wins out.

I am rooting for an Edmonton-Ottawa Final. Would be cool for the game IMHO to have an all Canada final. Not sure yet who I'd root for. My son, for some reason, is an Ottawa fan( after Hawks of course) , however, I share a surname with an Oiler, though no relation.

I think that after Sunday's 7-0 drubbing of the Senators, the Penguins will go on to the finals and win the Cup.

As far as who I would LIKE to see win, I'm going with the Senators, though now they would have to be considered least likely to pull it off. I base my preference thusly:

1) Predators embarrassed the Hawks in dispatching them 4-0, and their fans are phony, and their front office and their "ban the Hawk fans" ticket policy is ridiculous.

2) If the Penguins win, they would claim their 3rd cup in recent years, somewhat tarnishing the Hawks' enviable accomplishment.

3) Ryan Kesler and Kevin Bieksa must NEVER be allowed to touch the Cup, so NO to the Anaheim Ducks.

4) That leaves Ottawa....go Sens!

Some great points in here, especially about Nashville. However, I do not like Anaheim, so I've found myself pulling for the Preds.

Good angle on Pitts, but I was rooting for Ottawa anyway. Still a chance despite the 7-0 drubbing.

This has been a wild game.

And maybe I'm weird, but I have no ill will toward the Preds.

What a game, what a series.

I Found myself rooting for the Preds almost as much as I was cheering against Anaheim.

As I was typing that, why did I say against in a Canadian accent in my head :D

Go Ottawa. I'll feel dirty rooting for Nashville over Pitt.

Early on sounds like Pierr wants Pittsburgh. Complaining about two calls in favor of Ottawa. One borderline slashing, one a tough call on whether a puck went into Ottawa bench.

As I type this, he complaned again about a no call against Crosby.

Thoughts?

At any rate, good first period. Love game sevens

What a soul-crushing first two games for the Preds. Probably the better team in 4 of the 6 periods.

If I'm Pittsburgh I'm just throwing pucks at the net because Rinne looks like he is floundering in his net right now.

Rinne was awesome last night

I'm still skeptical and waiting for him to fall apart like he has in previous post seasons (and yes with possibly only two games to go I may end up waiting until next post season for this to happen).

It's possible that what Laviolette employs for a game plan protects Rinne more than previous years and he only has to make a few key stops. Which, if the case, Nashville may very well be looking at a Stanley Cup in a few days.

Why is Wes McCauley held in such high esteem?

Each time he does a national game, I hear announcers sing his praises as one of the best. Obviouly the NHL agrees since he is doing the Stanley Cup Final. However, in each of the last several games I have seen him officiate, he has had some bad calls/non-calls. I don't get it, you'd think film review would catch these errors.

Side note, with Pitt up 3-0, time for Subban to beat the sh@t out of Crosby. What Crosby did to Subban at end of the first is cheap stuff., not good jockey. To send them both off for holding is a joke. Fighting is legal in the NHL, time for PK to remind Sydney of this fact.

Oh, hi Pekka

Still, I hope Nashville can somehow pull this series out.

I've never understood the love for Wes either. I think he's okay, but not good enough to have songs written about him like the talking heads sometimes do.
