Looks like Jason Candle will be the MAC coach du jour.

Lance Leipold's Buffalo lost to Ohio at home and is now 2-4 (0-2 MAC)

And Program Building Superstar Chris Creighton got blown out by Central Michigan.

Maybe I'm biased because of Beckman but keep MAC coaches as far away from this program as possible.

Can't go with an interim and get a headstart because of the #$*+&^# that was allowed with upgrading Miles Smith and with Lovie being DC.

He knew his ship was going to sink and chose make sure his son got paid. Can't blame him.

2 weeks to prepare and 3 and a half years of recruiting from a former Superbowl decorated coach and THIS is what he has to show??

Whitman make a good move or you will be gone. Say goodbye to my donations. Say goodbye to the fans who showed up with blind hope for the Nebby game.

Brad Underwood please don't let us down like this.

Someone talk me out of putting Seth Littrell at the top of my list.

Not only did he go to 3 bowl games his first three years at UNT, he got them to their first 9 win season in 40 years, then did it 2 years in a row.

2nd biggest turnaround in FBS his first year

Improved offensive out put 9.5 points/game first year

Improved points per game by 10 pts 2nd year

My favorite fun fact: was voted (by fellow coaches) to be "last guy to be standing" in a brawl in an informal Athletic poll

Why would we talk you out of a good coach? He’s been quite popular here, if you’re new to the thread. The only guy more popular might be hometown hero, Jeff monken.

The question with Litrell is the staff. You take guys like Graham Harrell out of the mix and things shifted fairly quickly.

They need some work right now, HOU put it on them last week. Limping to 6 wins in that conference won’t make him an attractive candidate.

We’ve already done the pro experiment. We need someone that knows the college game or a kid that plays ncaa 14 video game, not madden. Haha

I used to play regularly in a online dynasty. I won a game 55-45 despite turning the ball over 7 times. Flex Bone West Coast hybrid offense was unstoppable.

Needless to say I'm available to coach the Illini if they call me.

True story, former Gamecock and Chicago Bear Connor Shaw was in it.

He’s in his 60 but a name we probably should be discussing is Don Brown.

I thought about that watching the game today. Creative blitzes.

Arguably the best defensive coordinator in the game not named Aranda. He’s 60-plus though, might be hard to get people on board for someone in that age bracket.

Would probably need a succession plan...a top defensive coach he would bring with him as coach in waiting if Brown was successful. Fans would quickly say Gary Moeller but I look at it as hurting Michigan and helping us. Nothing wrong with that.

Has anybody mentioned John Holecek? It'd probably be better if he started off in the MAC or something, but these guys are pretty much a MAC team at this point.

My conspiracy theory:

Lovie tried to make Miles the DC this off-season. JW said no. Lovie threatened to walk and leave the program in a bind so JW allowed the hiring of Miles as LB coach as a compromise and told Lovie to find a DC. Lovie got pissed and never tried to find a DC and names himself instead. JW can’t fire him because he would have been searching for a late coaching hire yet again, all but dooming his tenure as AD. Lovie game up on this team before the season even started because he knew he’s done this year one way or another.

This may be crazy, but what do we have to lose? Hire Coach Sunkett from east st louis. He knows how to win in modern high octane fashion, he has a connection to one of the largest talent pools in the midwest. I think he will have more rapport with the kids and he would be cheaper than a successful mid level college coach

Seems like a classic DC Guy to me. Mustache, great accent, play sheet stuck down his pants, etc.

In fairness, his 1-AA head coaching experience a while back did go pretty well. UMass has sucked since they lost him.
