In theory I agree but you have greasy coaches like Pearl that won't follow the rule and you will have power 5 schools poaching guys like Ja Morant...so we then might as well as restrict the tourney to power 5 schools. A bit of an overstatement by me, maybe, to make a point. Let kids go right to the league from high school... but not complete free agency every year.

Agree most important message in the post....successfully leaving. It's one thing to say "Hey we sent X,Y,Z to the league, it's another to say they make and stay on rosters due to talent and ability to get better.
Smith is, Cowan is not, he is too short and won't be drafted.
Bench role player at best, and I doubt that due to his size...the average guards playing right now are what 6-4-6-8?

To say that NBA teams wouldnt take a dominant interior big man that is skilled and dominant like Shaq was first overall is just not true. A young Shaq type of player would arguably be the best player in the world now. I know Kofi isnt Shaq and will never be but he certainly get better and be firmly in the first round and likely a lottery pick if he stays a year or two. I would love if Kofi to be more aggressive and play big. He is 7 ft and 290 with a 38in vertical and is raw. You dont need to hit 3's to be a dominant big man . I think a lot of people forget how good Shaq or someone big and skilled like him can dominant a game at any level or any decade. Kofi isnt Shaq or he would be #1 draft pick but he could still be a lottery pick even if he doesnt hit threes but maybe he can and if he could then certainly will be.
Theres no one in college like this. A play at the hall around the 3 minute mark. God if Kofi could be this aggressive in the paint like he was in most of this video aftercare minute or so Wow!

Not buying the 38 in vertical. If that is true, I would love to start seeing that in games.
I think next year, you could fully expect to see that in games. Lots of guys take a year or more to really reflect college program conditioning.
He was asked in a recent interview that is on this site and he said 37/38 inches.

I realize that however, if he does have a 38in vertical like he said expecting those types of dunks is realistic, Kofi has shown on glimpses of that aggressive mindset.. I dont think Shaq had a massive vertical leap just a I'm gonna dunk on you attitude.
There no way he has a 38" vert. Kobe's vert was 38". Shaq was 32". Shaq was a great leaper early in his career.
Kofi's is more like 28" max right now.
What does their vertical have to to with is? A student at Urbana High in 1980 had a 48 in or more played at KSU and high jumped 7'7' 3/4 in what does that have to do with Kofi or anyone? Really it has nothing to do with it. I think Kofi has abilities and is still learning on how to bust loose. Kofi does not move like Shaq but he does have some of those type of traits. He is still learning, can be dominant but is still very very raw. He needs another year or two of college. He is already a better FT shooter. If Kofi says it is 37-38in I believe him. That is what Kofi says in the last 30 seconds of this video. I think he is an honest person. I guess you dont believe him. I doubt he cares..

Well either he is fudging the truth or he needs to be more assertive and jump. I see no reason he cant get his eyes on the rim if he were fresh out of the gate. I know that is what he said "37...38in".. Look for yourself.
Either way he has potential and needs to return for at lease one year..
