Lot of schools have wanted Brent to make the jump up to HC. Can’t remember which schools, but I’d say he held out for a pretty good job.Oklahoma hiring Clemson DC Brent Venables to replace Lincoln Riley:
Campbell still seems to be a name floating around everywhere. I don't see Fleck mentioned much anymore. If this happens, would Oregon be interested in either Campbell or Fleck?
Nevada’s Norvell will about triple his salary to move in conference. Immutable law of college athletics: if you like your coach, pay him. Thankfully Whitman gets this.Word is that CSU will be poaching Jay Norvell away from Nevada (also in Mountain West and somehow the lowest paid coach in the conference.)
They actually pulled off the move every message boarder has always called for, refuse to fire your coach until you've already locked up a "big fish" and don't worry about hiring a new AD first.
Is this in reference to extending Walters or hiring Bielema? Can't imagine schools were lining up to hire BB away from the Giants though I guess it could just be that we moved fast enough for once.Nevada’s Norvell will about triple his salary to move in conference. Are you referring to the same Manny Diaz who accepted the head coaching job at Temple? ...only to say "just kidding" - two weeks later - to take this same Miami job?Its a shame what happened to Diaz. Things you absolutely HATE to see.
The Temple job and the Miami job are in two different worlds. He grew up in Miami and his dad was once mayor of Miami. There are many reasons why he should have taken the Miami job.Are you referring to the same Manny Diaz who accepted the head coaching job at Temple? ...only to say "just kidding" - two weeks later - to take this same Miami job?
That Manny Diaz? Or perhaps you are being sarcastic.
Since winning the national title in 2019 Dabo has lost his AD, both OC’s, DC, and golden boy QB.It looks like Virginia will name Clemson offensive coordinator Tony Elliott as its next head football coach:
Virginia hires Tony Elliott as coach: Clemson loses offensive coordinator as Hoos replace Bronco Mendenhall
Elliott is the latest key figure to depart from the Tigers in a short amount of timewww.cbssports.com
All depends on who he hires. There is no doubt Dabo was highly dependent on Venables and Elliott, to a far greater extent than Saban is with his assistants. Dabo is a CEO type HC like Saban, but doesn't have the depth of expertise Saban has on one side of the ball and doesn't have the same type of system in place. having said that, he is a very charismatic guy who will attract recruits and will likely be able to hire good coaches - he shows good instincts in that area.Since winning the national title in 2019 Dabo has lost his AD, both OC’s, DC, and golden boy QB.
It’s possible Clemson’s moment at the apex of college football is over.

Leonhard is basically a god in Madison and being the DC there basically takes away any of the heat because everyone blames Chryst for everything. He isn't going anywhere until after he is HC in Wisconsin.Just 35 and no particular connection to that part of the country.
Are people not banging down Jim Leonhard’s door or is he just not interested in leaving?
