Starting this thread with an opening that's happening just before the start of the season:
Sacramento State head coach Brian Katz announced his retirement yesterday, citing health reasons:
Katz played at Sacramento State in the late '70s and was a Juco coach in California for 19 years before taking over at his alma mater in 2008. He only had 2 winning seasons (2014-15 and 2019-20) and only had 1 postseason appearance losing in the 2nd round of the 2015 CIT to eventual tournament runner-up Northern Arizona. Katz leaves the Hornets program as the winningest coach in the D-I history of the school.
Associate head coach Brandon Laird has been named the interim head coach.
